New Security Checkpoints at the Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom has instituted a brand new security process for guests going through metal detectors and getting their bags checked. The new procedure is meant to streamline the process and improve the arrival experience.

Guests who are traveling to the Magic Kingdom via the Transportation and Ticket Center will go through metal detectors and have their bags checked at the TTC, prior to boarding the ferry boats or Monorail. Once those guests arrive at the Magic Kingdom they will not need to go through additional security.

If you're staying at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and taking the Monorail to the park, you'll go through bag check and a metal detector prior to boarding the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

Guests who arrive via resort buses will be screened in a new area just past the ferry boat dock, before getting to the entrance gates. And guests who arrive via boat from Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Poly, and Grand Floridian will be screened at the boat dock once it arrives at the Magic Kingdom.

This new system is meant to streamline entry into the Magic Kingdom and alleviate the long lines that normally clog the main gate area.

What do you think about this new security screening system? Let us know in the comments.
