Port Orleans French Quarter Lobby Reopens after Refurbishment

Last month the lobby at Port Orleans French Quarter was reopened after a several-months long refurbishment. The official rededication of the lobby happened on July 18 and was presided over by POFQ's General Manager Val Bunting.

The new lobby features a patterned tile floor and the wood desks are accented with highlight panels. The desks are the two-person "pod" style so that Cast Members can interact with guests. The one thing missing after the refurbishment is the "When the Saints..." music notes. Other new additions include new carpeting and couches in the TV area. Check out this fantastic video of the opening from Jeff Lange Media.

And since the lobby is open that means entertainment is set to resume at Scat Cat's Lounge. Musician Tom Casey has joined Scat Cat's to perform piano and jazz vocals. Casey is no stranger to the Walt Disney World Resort, and had covered for POFQ's former musician Elliot Dyson.

Performances are scheduled for Friday through Monday at 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. There are no performances on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

I'm so glad to hear that there's live entertainment here again. I look forward to checking out the new musician.

Looks fantastic! We stayed here in June and I have to say the Front Desk CM's did a wonderful job of covering the less than ideal (or picturesque) working conditions. Thanks for the video, I love seeing the finished product.
