Several ‘Major’ Restaurants May be Headed to Disney Springs

As construction continues on Disney Springs, there are more restaurant names being added to the mix that already includes a new dining location from the Patina Restaurant Group.

One of the restaurants said to be a good possibility is Morimoto, the Japanese and sushi restaurant owned by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and the Starr restaurant group. The restaurant currently has locations in New York City and Philadelphia.

Other restaurants being considered for Disney Springs include the steakhouse STK, The Edison, and the Boathouse. According to reports, only STK is close to making a deal for Disney Springs.

STK currently has locations in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The Edison hails from Los Angeles and celebrates the era of invention, and the Boathouse is a Landry's restaurant that serves seafood and steak dishes.

Landry's also owns T-Rex Cafe, Yak & Yeti, and the Rainforest Cafe.

Morimoto, STK, and The Edison are all upscale, critically-acclaimed restaurants and their addition to Disney Springs could make Central Florida a culinary destination.

Current restaurants in Downtown Disney, including Planet Hollywood, will remain in their current locations.

However, Planet Hollywood will be undergoing major renovations converting the globe-shaped structure into a planetary observatory. Meanwhile, if The Boathouse comes to Disney Springs it will be built on the lagoon next to Fulton's Crab House.

I am really really really hoping that 'Edison' will indeed get a spot. The LA club is so steam punky and cool. I will bring back that adventurers vibe.
