Three-Day Charity Walk Planned for This Fall at the Walt Disney World Resort

This November the Walt Disney World Resort will, for the first time ever, be home to a three-day charity walk sponsored by For A Cause.

The Walk The World event is part of the A Walk Around The World Fundraising Walking Event series and is planned for November 14-18.

For A Cause is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that plans multi-day charity walks in vacation destinations. All participants are allowed to walk for the charity of their choice.

The Walk the World event is a walk-only fundraiser and is limited to 50 participants. Over the three days of the event, walkers will average more than 10 miles a day on the sidewalks and other walking areas of the Walt Disney World Resort, including theme parks and other locations on property.

Walkers will get to visit Disney's Blizzard Beach and the Magic Kingdom, with the chance to experience all the theme park attractions at their leisure. All participants will also have a chance to enjoy group meals, shows, fireworks, and some special surprises, according to Robert Webber, president of For A Cause.

Registration for the Walk The World event is $1,000 per person and includes lodging at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, group meals, and group theme park tickets. Also included are walking guides, route maps, and transportation from Orlando International Airport. Single participants will be paired with a roommate. All walkers must be 14 years old or older to participate. Non-walking family and friends can share a room with a registered walker.

Participants can enjoy a lower registration fee to $350, but will be required to raise a minimum of $1,650 in donations for the charity of their choice.

Each day's walking route is unique, taking walkers through different journeys and locations and walkers can walk as much or as little as they want. The program begins November 14 with a group dinner where walkers can get to know the other participants.
