2010 Epcot Food and Wine Canada Booth

I thought I'd put a little information about each of the booths as I hit them, then link to them from my trip report. I'm doing Canada first because it was one of my favorites this year. It's basically "Le Cellier in a Booth" but it's still great.

We'll start off with the Salmon:

You probably know that I'm not much of a fish guy but I would actually eat this. It's not very fishy at all and the marinade/sauce is fantastic. Very "maple-y" but not too sweet. Really great I thought. (for fish)

Next was one of my favorite things on the Le Cellier menu, their Chicken Chipotle Sausage with Sweet Corn Polenta:

It's pretty much just like in the restaurant, which is AWESOME. Spicy but very tasty and the polenta is really good too. Try it at Le Cellier if you can't make F&W.

Next up, something that probably everyone is familiar with...The Cheddar Cheese Soup:

IMO it's less appealing in the booth because it needs the bread from Le Cellier to go with it. Still yummy though.

Then for dessert the Nanaimo Bar, which I had never heard of before:

I swear there was a hint of coconut in there. Either way it was lots of rich chocolate goodness.

Finally we have the Ice Wine:

I'd love to tell you about it, but DW drank the whole thing before I had a chance.

Overall I think this is a great booth. Its only liability is that it's largely stuff from Le Cellier, much of which you've probably already had. However all of it is great and you could easily make a full meal out of just that.

For all the info here's the Disney Food Blog's Canada Booth Page which is what I used to remember what all the things I ate were.

yum..I love the Cheddar Cheese Soup. I agree it needs the bread..but honestly I'd take it any way I can get it.

The salmon looks like it's on top of a pile of blueberries.

I guess I should have mentioned the lentils? They were pretty good!

You have to be specific or Bella gets con-fu-sed.

Thanks, Spammer Dude for bringing this post to my attention!

It's funny you should say that, Brad...because F&W is largely the reason I've never splurged on Le Cellier. While the menu sounds divine...our rule is, by and large, if we can make it, we won't go out to eat and buy it. And that little taste of cheddar soup every year is enough to satisfy me. Now, Bella (and others) will tell me I'm missin' out big time...

I don't think "spammer Dude" laugh will be around too much longer once admin or Brad spot his post. Can you say I hate spammers yuck That is ONE of the reasons I muchlove this forum, no rectums like him are tolerated.( hope I don't get in too much trouble for saying that).

Did you make little machine gun sounds when you hit "delete"? Sometimes I think we need a "Like" button on this forum. Facebook has ruined us all. I go through life thinking "This would make a great status update" and "I wish I had a 'like' button."

Oh my..maybe for many other things but not Le Cellier..over-rated in my opinion!!

The soup IS good but I can survive without it.

Take salt fish and unsalt it, mix it with mashed potato, onion, salt, pepper and fry them in pork rind grease.
No one makes them better than my Nannie.

LOL, you put it in fresh water and warm it ( not boil) and let the salt seep out, depending on the size of the fillet usually about 3 times, my Nannie tastes the water so she knows when to change it and when it's ready to move on to the next step.

I second that justcar....I had never heard of cheddar cheese soup

*and* although all the food I ate at le cellier was very tasty no canadian would ever call that a poutine! Its ALL about the cheese curds!

(I'm a Maritimer now but I'm originally from Quebec where we take poutine very seriously)

BAhahahaha, we haven't eaten at Le Cellier and don't have any plans to actually. I figure that there is always something different to try.

And I guess I don't want to be disappointed, the Canadian Pavillion is pretty disappointing to us in general.
