Annual Passes

Hello Disney Family!!

I heard a rumor last night about changes to the annual pass program, something along the lines of new pass sales being suspended, current passholders eligible to renew, etc. No details were very clear. Does anyone have any further information? I apologize for my vague information, but I'm only good as far as the info I receive...

Currently Walt Disney World is not selling annual passes. There are some exceptions. If you have a child who turns 3 and now needs a park ticket, they are selling annual passes for the child if the parents are passholders. If an annual pass expired during the shut down or a passholder canceled, they selling new passes on a case by case basis. Anyone in this situation is paying for a new pass and not getting the renewal discount. All current passholders are able to renew.

Disneyland is canceling all annual passes which makes sense since the parks aren't open and there is no indication on when they will be able to reopen. Disneyland is in the process of creating a new program for when the parks open.

I have been a passholder for a few years. I have never renewed my pass. I look at what my future plans are and buy a new once to cover the most trips. The last pass I bought was January 2019. Based on what I originally had planned for 2020, I renewed. I am so glad I did. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get a new pass.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the the whole annual passes not being sold thing. I do understand that there are many things that are uncertain right now. It makes sense to me in Disneyland, but the Florida Parks are open and capacity continues to increase. I was just talking to Becks the other day about APs and the cost savings of them when you have multiple trips planned.
