Are you a music person?

I'm in to just about all kinds of music. What kind of music do you like? And are you a "music person" or do you just kind of enjoy music or not listen to it much?

All my life. I love all types of music if it is well done. I play a little piano and much better on guitar. The guitar is only to accompany myself when I sing. Although I have always made a living as an electrician I have done professional singing when younger. I go to sleep every night with the radio or cd playing some kind of music.
Here is the location of an album I made about 3 years ago.

I like most forms of music depending on my mood, I tend to listen mostly to rock though. The only things I can't seem to get into are Jazz and hardcore techno dance music.

It's based on my mood as well. I can always get into 80s pop for some reason though. Can't quite understand that one.

I always know that whenever I ask a question, Joe will have a fascinating answer. Do you still play very often?

I can't put my finger on it, but your voice reminds me of Ray Price:

I'm a huge theater geek (in addition to my Disney geekdom) and have a very large collection of cast albums. I like a lot of classic rock (Springsteen, Beatles, Pink Floyd) and certain other artists here and there in a wide range of genres.

Great stuff Joe! All the backing music is karaoke stuff, right? You didn't play any of the instruments?

Are you a fan of Disney's tween musicals -- Camp Rock, High School Musical, etc.? I hear they're coming out with a new one, too.

Nope, not at all. When High School Musical came out the first time I was so excited at the idea of Disney reviving the musical -- and then I watched it. Well, that's not true, I got through about 45 minutes before I simply couldn't take it any more. I'm actually disappointed that a generation of kids are being brought up to believe that those are quality musicals. The music is terrible and the acting is completely cheesy (I can handle cheesy plots, but the acting and music has to be there to sustain it).

I love that so many of us are music people! I was in choirs, bands, and orchestras as a teen (yep -- band geek here), and although my taste in music has always been "picky," I'm starting to like more types of stuff these days.

I'm even starting to give pop music a try! Wink

I'm glad the screaming seems to be going out of fashion. It's funny because when I was a kid my dad said the same thing about my music, so I don't get to up in arms about the whole thing, but I mean at least the stuff I was listening to had some melody. I wonder what their kids will listen too.

Our oldest lad is into the screaming stuff. I understand many of the 'singers' use the same techniques and their guitarists to create their sound with over-driven pre-amps.

I love music in general; including many of the genres on peoples' "everything except ______" list.

Good morning again,

I am a music person. Besides singing bass in church choir, I have a huge CD collection (no Ipod for this Luddite) with over 1,600 discs in every genre except (c)rap. Favorite genres include classic rock and pop; classical; and jazz. I'm a musical relic: Eagles, Genesis, Allman Brothers, Beach Boys, Beatles, Chicago, Dire Straits, Pat Metheny, Journey, Elton John, Moody Blues, Mahavishnu Orchestra, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Vivaldi, Telemann, Corelli....
