The Avengers - What Did I Think?

Dont read this! JUST GO SEE IT!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! STOP READING THIS!!!!

But no seriously... its an amazing film. Its for the comic geeks who grew up on it. Its even for non comic geeks who just love a good action movie, with hilarious dialog. Seriously... this movie was HILARIOUS! If you liked any of the Pre-Avenger movies like Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Hulk, Thor and Captain America... if you liked it just a TAD.... see Avengers. It is such a great flick. If you do... this isnt spoilers.... there are two easter eggs at the end of the credits. There are two sets of credits. Stay through BOTH!

So yeah.... quit reading this and go see it!

AWESOME!!!!!! I went to see it on release night here in the UK, about 50% of the people were wearing Marvel T-Shirts and really amped for it...... well, there was one guy wearing a Superman shirt, oops. I've been a fan of Marvel for 30 years and Captain America is my childhood hero, even got a Cap tattoo years ago. The (new)individual are amazing but combining them, it's a full force of AWESOMENESS !!!!!!!!

Enjoy !!!!!!!!

Final thought "HULK SMASH!!!"

I'm SOO glad to hear it lived up to your expectations! Hubs is going to see it tonight - I get to stay home and babysit :-/. Hopefully I'll get to see it before it leaves theatres. Love LOVED the Iron Mans, Thor, and Capt America. I'm a newbie to confess (shocker Smile ) But I think they've done an excellent job with the films. The dialogue is so sharp. That's what keeps me interested.

If you thought the dialog was sharp in those movies? Its spot on in this movie. I so wish I could say some of it, but I just dont want to ruin it for everyone. The banter between them all is just hilarious! This movie... joke wise... could easily live up to some of the best comedies. Ill just say one thing... there is a moment between Thor and Hulk that is just CLASSIC.

How fantastic! My husband and our room mate are going this weekend (like somehow that makes up for them not going to Disneyland next week with the kids and I) and they;re really looking forward to it! Can you share with us some of your favorite parts without spoliers?

I know this is one we will get on DVD once it comes out. We probably wont make it to the theatre for it..but all I know is last night we went to eat at a pub right next to the movie theatre and we could not find a parking spot anywhere! Dave had to drop us off and walk from the other side of the shopping center. It was crazy packed for the movie!

Kinda hard because even though it would still be funny, might take away a bit of it. But during this part during the climax fight at the end, Hulk and Thor and fighting together, and at the end of that fight... well... lets say Hulk gets Thor back. The other again is with Hulk, and its after that. Not going to say anything about it... but there is a speach and then there is Hulk. Oh... and the guy in me... Pepper Potts in the beginning... HA! biggrin

My final has been seen in the previews and thats the confrontation between Tony Stark and Loki. Just love that whole scene.

There are really a lot of great comedic moments in the movie. Tony Stark is Tony Stark. Wise crackin, joke smackin guy. Thor even gets in a good joke about his brother. To me... The Avengers is a perfect example of a great summer fun movie!

We saw it last night. LOVED IT! My mom, dad, brother and his girlfriend saw it about an hour before us in a different time zone. (in Indianopolis for a 1/2 marathon) and my mom sent me like 4 texts after saying it was great. so if she loved it you know it's good.

I saw it Friday evening.

And again Sunday afternoon.

Going back next weekend.

I always loved The Avengers in the comics, and this movie is just about as close to perfect as you can get.

Squeeee! (Mental picture of Lizzy jumping up and down, clapping, like Candace from Phineas and Ferb.)

I think I'm gonna need to see it.

Btw... It made over 207 million making it the highest grossing movie over a weekend, and surpassing Harry potter part 2 which had like close to 170 million.

The Avengers cost 220 million to make and over all has made more than 640 million worldwide.

Oh... And I was wrong from another post. This is disneys first marvel film. I think they made the right move acquiring marvel.

with Disney acquiring Marvel what happens to Six Flags? Will they still have Marvel themed rides? Anyone know.

Sorry Mase - maybe I shouldn't hijack your post but I thought this would be a good place to post this.

From what I understand about whats going on is this...

Disney owns Marvel, but places like that have licenses to use in their parks. As of 2013... if I remember right... all of that goes away, except for Universal Studios in Orlando. Disneyland as of next year... if they so choose will be able to eithe create Marvel based rides and/or have characters walking around the parks. From what I understand with the Universal one is they had a longer contract... especially with that second park. But Disney is trying to acquire the rights so they can start something over in Orlando.

Now... most of this is speculation from what ive digged up. But movie wise and entertainment wise... they have full control over now. But for in the parks... I think only Disneyland has the option either right now, or next year.

I think we may go see this today. It's a non-park day and we're doing great with our vacation food budget so there's extra money. I noticed a big AMC Downtown Disney so I'm going to see if Avengers is playing and hopefully the kids will want to go! I hope I can get there!

Kristen, there is no way any movie theater in America (with the exception of art theaters and, you know, "art" theaters) is NOT showing The Avengers. So just GO. Everyone will enjoy it. Trust us.

Ummm.... it's in Downtown Disney. I think the question is, "How many screens is it showing on?" not "Is it showing?" Hope you are enjoying Disneyland.

So, we didn't get to the movies today. Our "extra money" from the food budget is in the form of a Disney Gift Card. LoL... Don't know what I was thinking. Anyhow, we went to the pool and I guess will get to do some extra shopping this weekend! Still haven't seen Avengers though.

Did you happen to go to the window reveal on Main Street today? Would love to hear about it if you did.

I saw it last Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sometimes it's good to watch a movie that just tells the story without demanding too much concentration from the watcher. The Avengers fills this brief entirely and provides a few laughs along with way. My favourite line... "He's adopted".
