Bad Rides for Big People

In the rides that don't agree with you discussion we were talking about rides that are no good for big people. My list:

1.) RnRC
2.) Space Mountain
3.) Dinosaur

Which ones am I forgetting?

To be fair, I ride RnRC and Space Mt. fairly easily, even though I am a "big person" - they're just a little tight. Dinosaur is hell the knees.

The only thing I've been unable to do at all is Cyber Space Mt. in Disney Quest because of the harness problem I mentioned in the other thread.

Oh, BTMRR is another tight leg squeeze, but I manage. It's worth the crossed, cramped legs!

Really, the problem (other than CyberSpace Mt) isn't so much being big but rather having long legs!

I don't know big/tall people fit into the dumbo-type rides (e.g. astro orbiter, etc.). That's a tight squeeze for an adult!!

I have long legs, and I'll tell you I fit much better in Aladdin's Magic Carpets than I do in Dumbo or Astro Orbiter. This tells me that Disney is designing ride vehicles with the needs in mind of big/tall people much more now than they did in the past.

I think this can be evidenced further by the ride vehicle of Expedition Everest. I've never ridden a roomier car in a roller coaster type ride.

Expedition Everest is really great. Astro Orbiter is okay as long as you have the rocket to yourself, although I'm pretty sure I don't apply the safety restraints correctly.

They definitely are making the rides more "big/tall friendly," but I can't believe I'm in the minority on thinking RnRC is uncomfortable. Maybe I have a long torso or something, but I have to sit in the odd numbered cars or else I can't slouch enough to keep the shoulder harnesses from hurting my shoulders. At least DSoup agrees!

Very true - EE is no problem AT ALL. Even Mission Space is no problem (though I once got on there, the ride malfunctioned and they kept us in there for a good ten minutes -- I've never been so clautrophobic in my life!)

Actually, Mission Space was one of my favorite rides till that - I don't know if I can go on it again - it freaked me out that much!

I'm not sure that I could handle that. Was anyone panicking??

wow, i might lose it. i'm not particularly claustrophobic, but 10 minutes in that space, especially without the ride running could drive me nuts.

Yeah, I was! A couple of minutes in I was fine, but then I started to freak out. It is NOT a big space and we had the harnesses down already. A voice came over the speakers telling us it would be a minute and we'd start -- and it wasn't until a good six or seven minutes later until they finally came around and opened the vehicles. I've never been trapped quite like that before - stuck in the harness and in the closed vehicle -- if we were in there for much longer I seriously think I would have had a full blown panic attack. I very nearly started banging on the door calling for them to let us out. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if the harnesses weren't down already, but the restricted movement on top of the close quarters was very scary. When they finally opened the vehicle, they said they had to shut down for about 20 minutes and gave us all fastpasses to come back later.
Caitie had never ridden it before, and I had loved the ride other times, so I decided I would do it again. Second time went off without a hitch and was fine. I just don't know if I could risk that happening again -- it was WAY scarier than any ride!

I wouldn't say that the Haunted Mansion is bad for tall people, but you better be careful when the ghosts lower the bar for you or your knee might get whacked.

True!

Now, does the American Airlines flight TO Disney World count on this thread? THAT's a bad ride for big people sarcastic I'm not even that tall and MY knees are sore after that.
