Bay Lake Tower Questions...

Once again I'm looking for you good people to help me out here..Spoke to a Disney rep on the phone today ( UK ) and yes, free dining starts for 2016 tomorrow ( Thursday 23rd ) ...But my flights with VA won't be released for some time yet..My plan is to go in October next year..I would love to do at least 12 nights at WL ( with the free DDP ) But would love to spend nights 13 and 14 at Bay Lake Tower..For those who have been lucky to stay there, would a one bedroom appartment be ok for two adults and a teenager ( 18 )..And also, can you ask for a view towards MK...I'm not sure how the free dining plan would work, I suspect that it would last for the 12 days at WL...I'm sure you have to stay for a minimum of 5 days to get free DDP...This wouldn't bother me if I had to pay out of pocket for the last two nights..I want to do something special for my good lady as its her 50th birthday next year..Any advice I would appreciate ..Many thanks..

I've never stayed in a one bedroom, just a studio. However I'm pretty sure it'd be plenty of space for the three of you especially for only a couple nights. I believe there is still only one bed and a pull out sofa but 2 bathrooms.
There is a MK view, lake view and standard. The MK view is of course the most expensive.

Spook is correct and I also think the 1 bedroom would be quite sufficient and they are nicely separate for sleeping purposes. We stayed there two years ago and had a "Lake view" and we were fortunate to be on the very far end of the building and had a perfect view of the MK and could watch Wishes every evening right from our balcony. In fact I think mrhub had the same view from his balcony on his stay there last year, only he was a few stories lower than we were.

Yes we did and we loved that view too, best of both worlds.

Oh my gosh! Where do I begin? We have two home resorts, but this was my first! Before there was DVC, The Contemporary was always my favorite place to stay, so naturally when when we decided to join the vacation club BLT was our choice. It is all about location, location, location. It is about a seven minute walk to MK. (It is actually longer to take the monorail because of all the other stops!) The dock to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge is right out back....less than a five minute walk. The monorail to EPCOT is a short ride away. One of the best restaurants on property, The California Grill, is a three minute walk to the elevator inside The Contemporary.

The view from the rooms and balconies is fabulous! You can choose a MK view or a lake view and both are breathtakingly beautiful. One of the best places to view MK fireworks and then have an adult beverage is right overhead at the Top of the World Lounge (However I believe you have to be a DVC owner to get access....or know someone who is DVC) silly
There may be quite a few of us who can take you up to the 16th floor in Oct 2016.

Although the studios are a little small, the one and two bedroom units are spacious and equipped with a full kitchen. (Have never seen a three bedroom, but it sounds amazing!) The one bedroom sleeps five and has two bathrooms plus a washer and dryer and the full kitchen. It will be perfect for you family! Your son would have a choice of sleeping on the queen size pull out sofa or the lounge chair that turns into a twin size bed. We have stayed in a studio, a one BR and a two BR. We will be checking into a one BR on May 20. Will take pictures and post. Colonel will be staying for his first time at BLT, checking in on May23.

We take our oldest grand daughter every couple of years and have stayed at BLT, Kidani and BC. When we asked her where she wanted to stay in 2016 for her 15th BDay, she asked for BLT over the other two!

It is a great place to celebrate a birthday which is what I will be doing in four weeks! yay yay

Forgot to mention the master bedroom in the villas! The studios have a queen size bed and a tub/shower in the smallish bathroom, but the villas have a king size bed, a jacuzzi tub, a walk in shower as well as a private entrance to the balcony. There is a sliding divider between the jacuzzi and the bedroom so if you want to open it and watch tv while in the tub, that is a possibility. Master bath also has a nice big counter with plenty of drawer space as well. i would like to have a bathroom like that at home! muchlove

Here are some of the pictures from our 1 bedroom we had last May. Sorry the pictures are not the best, but you can get some jest as to what it looks like, I'll find more. This was a Lake view and we had a view of both the Lake and the MK, at least enough to see the fireworks if we wanted to.

Ohio- do the BLT 1BR units have a Jacuzzi tub? That's a big selling point for me. That Jacuzzi tub seems to cure all my ills.

All of the BLT 1BR and 2BR units where I have stayed have had a Jacuzzi tub. As a matter of fact, if my memory serves me right, all of the WDW DVC 1 BR units where we have stayed have had that luxury. None of the DVC studios have had a Jacuzzi tub in the room. If I recall correctly your May reservation at BLT is for a studio. That may be hot tub time at the pool which is reserved for BLT guests only and has restricted access.

That has been my experience also. When it's just the two of us, I'm always torn because I don't really need a 1BR, but I do like the Jacuzzi.

BTW, the VGF hot tubs were not up to standard. I hope the Poly and BLT have the regular Jacuzzi tubs and not that deep soak tub with a couple of jets in it.

Colonel, the Bungalows have a jetted bath tub, not a Jacuzzi tub. The studios have regular old bath tubs, no jets. BLT and Saratoga Springs have had the best Jacuzzi type tubs yet that we have been in.

BLT has a deep soak tub but there was more than just a couple of jets. I felt like I was being bombarded with streams of water!! Let's see if you can talk my husband into letting you try it out after dinner on the 23rd.... laugh rolling

A Jacuzzi is like an outboard motor blowing aerated water at you. A jetted tub is like an old lady suffering from COPD with a straw blowing little bubbles in your tub. Or something like that. awesome

LMAO!!! laugh

That's got to be the best description I've ever heard of the difference between a Jacuzzi and jetted tub. I can just picture a Jacuzzi salesman using that line! LOL.

Colonel about summed it up. If you were ever in a real Jacuzzi, and then got in Disney's you would know the difference.
