Booking ADRS..On Line V Phone Call..

Good Morning People...I'd like to throw this question to everyone, but curious to hear from UK travellers..On our last visit in 2012. I was super excited on our 180 day to go online and book our ADRS however we had problems downloading our booking reference number and therefore had to phone Disney reservations..It was no problem and the nice lady got us our restaurants and times we wished for...She asked us how long were we staying at WDW and we told her 14 nights, she then asked me if we would like priority fireworks viewing for " Wishes " and " Illuminations " ...Whit?.. eek Yes please...Well we were given a 9 digit reference similar to the ADR reference for both shows..Needless to say the seating areas were awesome..Now to my question..Is it beneficial to speak to someone on the phone at reservations rather than booking on line as this year we want to celebrate our DS 17th birthday with an ADR at Jiko and would like to get a small birthday cake that night...Also we would like to celebrate our official 15th wedding anniversary at Yachtsmen Steakhouse..( reason I say official is in 2012 we celebrated our 25 years together as a couple ) So what do you think about it..Especially UK folk...It is a 0800 ( free ) number to phone,so it's not going to cost anything phone wise..?

Personally I have always used the online system mainly because I'm usually at work and It's a little difficult to do that whilst covering a reception at the same time..............saying that if you get extra perks by ringing them I'd say go for it!

hey king, did you read my engagement trip report? I did all of that over the phone with limited french, the american cast members are amazing. If you want to celebrate something special call them at the ADR line and tell them want you want to plan and then phone the rester ant direct and talk to them. the team at the disneyland hotel went above a beyond. So yes I would phone.

I started to do my ADRs online but had major issues. I called reservations and only waited 10-15 minutes before a CM took my call and she handled everything for me.

I've actually made all ADR's over the phone, except this last trip. Never had any issues with it. Both systems seem to work fine. Did not receive special/better treatment with one or the other.

On our last trip I had booked all of our ADRs online, for the 2 of us. Well 11 days before our trip, my mother injured herself pretty seriously and would not be able to look after our then 22 month old son. Surprise, our romantic getaway was now a family trip.
I called in and got an amazing CM who changed all of our ADRs to earlier and for 3. She had to swap a couple of nights around but considering this was now 9 days prior and during the free dining promo I was very impressed.

I've made ADRs both ways and I haven't had a problem with either. I prefer calling for "special" dinners though.
