Calling the UK Red Telephone Booth..

Yeah alot of time they dont answer, or you get a fax sound after 3 rings. Hang up and try again. It fun, especially watching from a little distance away. Then after awhile start telliing them, you like their shirt or the outfit they are in, their hair, what ever. It freaks some people out. I 've told them there is a camera watching them.

Didnt you take a video and record one? I still need to do that. And btw... we could have some serious fun come November....?

The best thing to do is to actually call these booths while you're there at Epcot and watching who picks up! Just grab a pint at Rose & Crown, sit on the bench right outside and dial away. You can see who picks up, but you're far enough away that they don't catch on. My wife and I did this for the better part of an hour back in January. Yes, I know it's mindless entertainment, but it sure was fun. Just don't say something like "I love the green shirt you're wearing!" Folks tend to get creeped out by that.

I just called and the girl yelled at me. she said i shouldn't be calling a public phone. HAHAHA.

I read this last night, so i figured I would try it out! It was so funny... A little kid answered and I said "hello?" and I heard him yell in the background, "MOM ITS FOR YOU!" I asked about the weather and wished them a good trip.. they wouldnt believe I was in NY though LOL

This sounds like so much fun; I don't know if I want to do it now, or wait until I actually GET there and can watch the expressions. I put all 3 #'s in my cell.

Just called red booth #3 and got someone. They were a little stunned, but they said they were having a great time and that things were just fine in EPCOT today. I asked them to have a pint for me and she said "SURE!"

I guess I was a little stunned too.

So we tried calling from outside Rose and Crown this past Friday. There were tons of teenagers around the booths, taking pictures but none of them answered.

I did go over on Thursday and wait for one to ring. When it did, I answered it!!!! It was a pretty uneventful conversation. A lady on the other end, who had an accent, I might add, said she was calling from Great Britian and that her grandson worked at WDW and she usually calls to chat with him on this number. She asked me to go find him for her, he was wearing a green shirt. Now, there was a guy wearing a green shirt near the phone but he walked away too fast for me to get him. She said that's ok, I will call back later said have a good day and then she hung up. So, now I'm wondering if CMs actually call these phones too to mess with people or if they are told to call?

My husband put these numbers in his phone. We are going to call when we are there and have our kids answer the phone. Wonder if they will recognize us?

Id love to do this it's just a shame it would cost me a fortune! Boo! I might have to invest in an international calling card just to give it a go for kicks and giggles! I'm not sure if they'll understand me though, most Americans think I'm scottish and I'm actually scouse!
