Captain EO Back at Epcot

Captain EO is supposed to be back at Disney World. Anyone heard any details?

No, but I remember the original fairly well.

How about a roll-call; who's seen it?

They've been planning it's return for a while. I've never seen it and don't really have any desire to.

As I recall, it's pretty good on it's own merits (even if you're not an MJ fan). It was made by some of the most acclaimed names in film...ever: Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Vittorio Storaro, with music by James Horner.

I remember it. I remember liking it, but being scared of the queen's claws!

Captain EO was before my first WDW trip. Never seen it on TV either, do they ever show it on TV?

You can watch it on YouTube, but I would caution you I suspect it's not nearly as impressive that way. This was the first 4D film and as I recall that was a significant part of the allure. Watching it at home will be in relatively low resolution, not 3D, and won't have the physical interaction you get in the theater.

I saw it when I was a little girl on my first trip to disney. I LOVED it. I am excited it is coming back. I look forward to watching it again. I hope it is as good as I remember it.

I remember it being pretty trippy, but I do want to see it again. If only for old time's sake!

I've never seen it, but I fear I'll have trouble enjoying it after Michael Jackson's dramatic shift in legacy. It's like after Tom Cruise went completely nuts (or let us know he was nuts), after that I always have trouble watching him without going "That guy is nuts!"

Saw it again last week for the first time since 1990, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a truly exciting experience, and the very enthusiastic crowd only added to that.

The entrance room and pre show area has been completely returned to how it looked when EO was there before HISTA. Signage and all has been changed. It honestly felt like a step back in time, and what WDW fan doesn't dream of that from time to time?

The show was as impressive as I remember it being years ago. Very well done film, with some great effects.

If you have never seen it before, I suggest not watcing it on YouTube. It'd be like craving a steak and eating a piece of beef jerky.
