Christmas Bucketlist Trip - Advice on Dates

Hi fellow WDW lovers! Any advice on which of these long weekends would be better with regards to crowd levels - Thursday, December 5th - Sunday, December 8th or Thursday, December 12th - Sunday, December 15th. I heard the December 12th week is a bit more expensive but I also heard a rumor Pop Warner week is the 1st week of December this year. Any thoughts on whether to avoid that week and go the later dates or does it really not matter? Also, anyone know what hotels the Pop Warner folks usually book? I think I read somewhere that last year it was the All Star resorts and Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs. I have my heart set on POFQ but I don't necessarily want to stay there if it is going to be packed full of cheer groups. Thoughts?

Kris I found this "Pop Warner 2013 dates are confirmed for December 7-14, and that these are the "final" dates." Thats on this web site: First Visit

Never heard of them staying at POFQ, but never say never.

We didn't see PW's at POFQ last year. You will enjoy POFQ, we love it.

I would think either weekend would be good. Wish I could go with you. muchlove clapping

We were there in 2011 during Pop Warner week. We really didn't even notice they were around. We were not staying at the Value resorts so the only time we even saw them, was during the evening hours at the parks and at Downtown Disney. They are busy during the day time hours. Any of the groups we encountered were always friendly and well behaved. I think the closer to Christmas you go, the more crowded it will get.
Have a great time whenever you go !!

We have been a few times in December, including during Pop Warner. No problems with the Pop Warner kids, they were all polite, well-organised young people having a fun time. It is normally quiet when we arrive around 8th December and gradually gets busier and by 19th December was very busy and more expensive. First two weeks in December is a great time to visit. we used to go for the first two weeks in December when I was a kid and stay in the Polynesian (1980 - only Magic Kingdom then!) I love seeing all the holiday decorations and the Osborne lights. You can't beat Disney at Christmas.

I've never been in December. When do they normally film the Christmas parade? Doesn't MK get crazy busy that weekend?

We went December 10 - 19, 2011 and noticed that each day it got busier and busier as we got closer to Christmas. I have never heard anything bad about Pop Warner week.

I've been twice in December & the closer it gets to Christmas the busier & more crowded it gets. I would go the 5th through the 8th.

I'm going the 12th so I know there will be at least two people there.

In past years the rule used to be the first weekend in December was the taping. Something like dry run on Friday and actual taping on Saturday. I hear that can get quite busy.

When we went in 2010 that's what happened. We just avoided MK on that particular Saturday.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The general consensus was to stick with the original plan of Dec 5 - 8 so that's what I did and booked it this morning! Two rooms at POFQ (or my Disney home as I like to call it) for me, my mom and my dad. Its going to be such a nice trip hanging with the folks and heading around the world to see all of the Christmas decorations! I can't wait. I've booked ADRs at Chefs De France (Dad has always wanted to try it), the Fantasmic Dinner package at The Hollywood Brown Derby, and I'm waiting on reservations to open up again for the California Grill so I can surprise my parents with a 46th anniversary dinner there! Fingers crossed!!

One more question for all of the experts...can we do Fantasmic and The Osbourne Spectacle of Lights in the same night?
