Christmas at Disney!

Hey everyone!! My family and I are going to Disney World the week after Thanksgiving. Does anyone know when they will transform everything to the Christmas style?

We are going the same week as you. This is our first holiday trip but I am pretty sure it will all be decorated by that time.

You should be pretty sure to see it all with your dates!

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party begins on November 9th, 2012
The Osborne Lights also begin in Hollywood Studios on November 9th, 2012
Jungle Jingle Parade at Animal Kingdom begins Nov 9th, 2012
Candlelight Processional at Epcot begins November 23, 2012

If I remember in 2011 the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House didn't go up until the first week of December and that takes about 3 days for them to set.

The website shows Mickey's Christmas Party is Nov. 9th thru Dec 21st...so I would assume Magic Kingdom will be decorated by then....the Candlelight Processional at Epcot shows Nov 23rd thru Dec 30th (Food and Wine Fest ends on Nov. 12th and I heard they start to convert the decorations shortly after that)...Osborne Lights are Nov 9th thru Jan 6th... The only thing I don't know is when they start to put up Christmas Decorations at the resorts ?

Thanks everyone! Has anyone been during this time of year? What kind of crowds should we expect? My first visit to WDW was in January 2009 but I didn't get to do a whole lot because I was there for a dance competition.

Resort decorations should go up overnight at each of the resorts, not sure about the dates on those, however I'm sure that they will mostly be up by Thanksgiving.

We have been there the first week of November for the last 3 years. We always leave the 9th. So we always make the MNSSHP and never get to see MVMCP. In the MK the halloween deco went down and the christmas went up in the same night it seemed. It took days for the Christmas deco to go up though. Every morning you would find something new in the resort and the parks that wasn't there the night before. We go to see them building the gingerbread house in GF but we did not get to see the finished project which was a huge disappointment because it had Stitch in it last year. So as we leave every year Christmas is almost there but not quite yet. You will be fine.

I've been going the week before Thanksgiving. The resorts were being decorated that week. It's pretty cool going to bed one night and walking into the resort lobby the next morning see the Christmas tree.

I arrived last year on 11/11 and they were beginning to put up the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. Epcot's decorations will go up after the F&W festival is over.

Hi,

I have heard reference to the "crowd calendar" before but don't know where to go to get it. Can anyone give me a link?
Thanks.

We go during this time every year and we love it! They usually start getting the decorations up for the resorts the day after Thanksgiving, so sometimes its a hit or miss on christmas decorations are your resort, but all of the parks are dolled up for the occasion.

As for the crowds. They are light. I recommend getting a crowd app for your phone, or if you dont have one using http://touringplans.com Its a great site to help you figure out maybe what day to spend at what park. But last I checked... I think that Sunday and Monday of that week was the worst with MK at a 5, but everything else was much lower.
