Coral Reef-Yes or No?

I have an ADR for Coral Reef, but I have been reading some mixed reviews and now I'm worried.

So how is it, anybody have any big complaints?

We've never tried it, but everything I've read has been ambivalent. I've also read that it's gotten much better in recent years. I think the aquarium view might be good for the type of trip you guys are planning, so even if you're not wowed by the food the environment might work for you.

SoloFriendly ate there a while back and liked it:

It's been a while since I've eaten there, but I liked it.

You have to really like seafood -- there aren't many options for those who don't.

Haven't been there in a while, but I've heard that the food is getting MUCH better. I've heard a lot of great reviews recently. Plus -- you get to see the fish! So serene. Smile

What time of day is your ADR? I ask, because I think your experience will be significantly different if you dine during a slower time than if you dine during a busy time. Try not to get a table right next to the aquarium, because if you do, you may constantly have other people's kids coming over next to you to press their faces against the glass. You can see everything perfectly well from a couple of levels up, center of the room.

I LOVED my meal there. I got the catfish with cheese grits. Fabulous!

I believe my ADR is around five, we tried to shoot for earlier times since I read that there are few crowds than around six.

Zapperz -- is that because of the food or the overall experience?

The quality of the food is not worth the price.

I used to like it quite a bit during the early 2000. I used to go there regularly till around 2003, when I thought the food quality just didn't match what I remembered. After trying it a couple more times and finding out that it wasn't just an isolated incident, I stopped going altogether.

Don't waste your time, it is not worth the hype. We were there lat year and it was a huge disappointment:

I agree - we were REALLY looking forward to this place and we were ALL disapointed

Wow, thanks for the insights, guys! Sounds like the board has had good and bad experiences to be sure. I guess it's a crap shoot!

Probably has a lot to do with expectations. Sounds like the people who didn't enjoy it had the highest expectations.

Good point, SF, on getting a table a few levels up. You can still see just fine, and you don't have kiddos closing in on you the whole time!
