A Couple of Orlando Restaurants getting A LOT of Buzz

Now, I know most of you come to Disney, and are happy never to leave Disney - I don't blame you! However, I wanted to let you know about a couple of restaurants here in Orlando that are getting a LOT of attention!

The Ravenous Pig is a gastropub located in Winter Park. They have all kinds of amazing offerings, from their amazing sandwiches to their entrees served with truffle fries or other awesome sides.

Four Rivers Smokehouse is Texas-style BBQ right here in Florida. The owner describes himself as a "Floridian turned Texan" and has opened this traditional Texas smokehouse here in FL. Rave reviews and lines tell the story! People love them. One of their locations is also in Winter Park.

Speaking of Winter Park, it's a posh little part of Orlando with some great shopping and people watching. There's a really great farmer's market on Saturday morning, and totally worth checking out if you ever decide to leave Disney Smile

I'd not heard of Four Rivers, but all the locals tell me I have to try the Ravenous Pig. Has anyone tried either?

We're talking about a trip to Four Rivers soon. A girlfriend of mine tried the Ravenous Pig. She said it was good, but I'm trying to remember if she thought it was OMiGosh good.

We are starting to make all of our dining plans right now and are going to do maybe 2 off-site restaurants. We will have to check these out!

Hey Guys! An update here - we made it to 4 Rivers last night in Longwood, which is just a hop up I-4 from Winter Park. It was fantastic! I have a couple of friends from Texas who have "schooled" me on what real Texas BBQ is, as well as some other regional favorites, like kolaches, and this place is the real deal! The prices were really affordable (we all ate for less than $30), the setting is rustic-comfortable, and the service was cheerful. DH had the 3 "sliders" - but they were far from the chintzy affairs that sliders usually are...they looked like three sandwiches! I had the brisket sandwich. For sides, we had cheese grits, smoked and bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers, fried pickles, and baked beans. DD had a kid's slider and mac and cheese, while DS just had the mac and cheese. Huge, mile high cakes and cupcakes in the sweet shop, and Peet's coffee at the adjoining coffee bar. I wish that I could have snapped some pics for you, but I was holding a squirmy 2 year old thru most of the experience. The only drawback - you order at the counter and have to stand in line. But it moved pretty fast, so it wasn't bad.

Definitely a thumbs up if you decide to leave the Disney bubble Smile
