Crazy Magic Band/DME Question

Okay so for my trip in Feb my mother booked the trip and she's halfway across the country. She is also going with us and the Magic Bands will be going to her house. Will we be able to get on the DME without the bands? Could we use our old bands for DME purposes? I just dont know what would be the easiest and what would actually work.

Unless something has changed, they sent us a paper pass that we gave to the DME..
they never asked to see our magic bands... but we had the Disney My Way Package
so perhaps that makes a difference too... ?

You can still use the booklet, they will scan it and allow you access. They do have band readers for the magic bands.

Oh okay good. As long as I can use the booklet I'll feel comfortable. Thanks guys!

That info should all stay the same, h0ney because international visitors may use DME, but they do not receive their bands until they check-in at their resort. So you shouldn't run into an issue even as they begin to rely more and more on the technology.

If you have the confirmation number, you can link the reservation to your My Disney Experience account, and in your MDE account, you can manage which Magic Bands are active. Once you link the reservation, you can make your old bands active and use them for DME. (MDE...DME...it can get confusing if you have dyslexia. confused )

As a UK visitor, we don't get our bands till we check in so have to use a printed paper ticket for DME, never had a problem!
