Disney cuts 1,100 jobs at the Swan & Dolphin Resort

While Disney Guests are slowly trickling back to the Parks for some time away, many of the WDW Resort complexes feel like ghost towns. Cast Members that are working seem extra appreciative that guests are returning and I was thanked for being there several times during my short stay last week. However... the numbers of folks that are there is small and rely on the DVC annexes for their guests. Extension to laid off and furloughed workers are not what people want to hear, but health and safety concerns continue to impact all operations. A couple of stories this week came out about the continuing situation for cast.

Disney and other Central Florida theme parks are still having to lay off and furlough workers as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Sodexo which is a Food & Beverage provider for Walt Disney World, has also notified 146 employees that their furlough status will continue indefinitely.
