The Disney Reading List

So many of us read Disney related books I thought I'd make a thread where we can have little mini-reviews of them so we can get a good list built up. I also made a Non-Disney Reading List, where you can talk about whatever you're reading that isn't about Disney (even I do have some activities in my life that aren't Disney related).

Love this idea. I want to be first to recommend Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson (though the sequel was pretty poorly written). The first book was entertaining - the idea is that there are Disney hosts - holograms that show people around the parks. Maleficent and the other villains try to take over the parks, and the hosts need to stop them. It's a young adult novel, but quite entertaining.

George at ImagiNERDing.com has a LOT of great books in his Disney library section -- that's the first place I go when I want to read a good review.

I can also recommend the Imagineering guides to the parks and the Hidden Mickey books!

I liked "How To Be Like Walt" it was a great mixture of biography - from the perspective of those who knew him best - and how to incorporate the amazing innovations he had into everyday life.

That intrigues me. I'm going to have to find that one.

Good morning!

Had to chime in. Cory Doctorow wrote a science fiction book called *Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom* featuring an MK of the future where the magic is enhanced by late-21st-century technology.

*The Walt Disney World Trivia Book Volume 1* and *The Walt Disney World Trivia Book Volume 2* by Lou Mongello are indispensible for the Disney nut. My copies are signed by the author.

*101 Things You Didn't Know about Walt Disney World* by Kevin Yee. My copy is signed by the author.

Hey Jim! Corey Doctorow does some great non-fiction writing about copyright law and related subjects too that I should put in the Non-Disney Reading List. "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" is a really interesting premise for a book. You can tell he loves Disney World.

I've been reading Mousejunkies by Bill Burke. I'm a little miffed that he's stating opinions so matter-of-fact, however...
