Do Trips Ever "Sneak Up" on You?

So most of the time I'm counting down the days to my trip, but every once in a while I suddenly realize -- We're going to Disney World in 6 days! Does that ever happen to anyone else?

Yup, especially since I sometimes decide 2 or 3 days before I'm going to go. biggrin

Doesn't sneak up, per se, but they do arrive quickly sometimes. I plan WAY in advance and am counting the days months out. When it gets within a few days, I'm counting the hours biggrin

Great question. I tend to hit a point about a month out where I'm SO looking forward to the trip that I can't think about anything else. Then, for sheer self-preservation, I put it out of my mind. Two weeks later, I freak out, realize we're leaving in no time, and start scrambling to get everything done.

I think I can learn something from this behavior...

This actually happens to me all the time. When I first book the trip it will seem like it will never get there. Then I get distracted by work or something else and then all of the sudden it's almost trip time and I haven't done a bunch of stuff I need to do.

I think that is why they invented the Owners Locker.

I sure wish I had thought of that thing.

What a neat idea.

Fortunately for me since I live in FL, my trunk is my Disney locker. mickey

I wouldn't mind having one of them, even if I lived in FL. Just having a second set of stuff that I don't have to tote around all the time could be great. I wonder if he makes any money at that. It's not terribly expensive, but it seems like a lot of work to get them to the hotels all the time.

He must make money because he's been doing it for years. It's not that cheap either. I think it's around $99 for a big locker. I guess it makes sense if you come often and don't want to schlep heavy things on the plane and now with the airlines charging fees for checked and carryons it might make more sense than ever.

That's a really good point. The era of "Baggage Fees" must have been a huge boon for him. I'd imagine all the serious DVC-ers are his customers. Do they talk about it alot on the DVC boards?
