I was looking at the thread about the gingerbread house decorating demo and it got me thinking. I have bought the chocolate covered gingerbread there several times, but I don't really love it. I think I just get sold by all the fun looking Christmas-y stuff there. Have you bought the gingerbread to eat, and did you like it?
I haven't bought gingerbread, but I make it 
I love the way it tastes and smells, like Christmas right there on your counter, with all the traditions stemming back for generations. Even if I have to put on shorts and turn on the A/C here in FL (thankfully not the case right now) it always sends me back to childhood and all the plummy smells of the holiday.
DH, not so much. He'll do spicy cakes and pumpkin bread, but for the most part, he'll take a pass on actually eating the gingerbread.
Shoot...now I want to go make gingerbread. Like, the cakey kind. With whipped cream and a lemon sauce. Boy, do I have a lot of baking to do...

I'm not a big fan of gingerbread, but I'm willing to try Lizzy's and Joe's versions!

I bet you have the problem of food not measuring up to Joe's version a lot. One of the few downsides of having such easy access to great food.

It's on my list. Maybe we should give up sleep during the holidays? We've done them in the past. Alas, they're never the "Martha Stewart" affairs I dream of when kids "help"...
