Does Room Size Matter?

One of the complaints about Wilderness Lodge as a "Deluxe" is that the rooms are much smaller than the other deluxe resort. This is clearly true, but I've never really minded. We spend a decent amount of time in the room napping and relaxing, but I've never needed a ton of space. It's nice when you have it, but it's not a huge priority to me. Does room size influence you guys at all?

It hasn't in the past, but when staying at the polynesian we were really pleased with the bit of extra space. I've heard that the Beach Club rooms are bigger as well, so we're looking forward to that. Trying not to let ourselves get "used to it" though -- we love all of the resorts and want to be comfortable wherever we are.

I like the extra space, but it usually isn't worth the price to me. As long as we have a bed I'm pretty much good to go.

We, I imagine, would LOVE the extra space, but we haven't had much chance to enjoy it yet! We usually spend afternoons in the room resting, so a more "luxury" room is pretty welcome.

Doesn't matter to me, since I travel solo. And I don't think it would matter much to me as part of a couple, either. It's not like you're going to be ballroom dancing around your bedroom. As long as I have enough room to walk around the bed to the bathroom, I'm good.

Hi,

Agree with SoloFriendly. Because I travel alone, I don't mind a smaller space, since I won't spend much time in the room.

Space isn't an issue for me as much as comfort is! I imagine once we have a couple of rugrats, we'll be looking for the space, though!

Everything most of you have said about not being in the room that much is true but I still like a lot of space.

I guess I've been timesharing for so long that if I have to stay in a motel room I feel like I'm slumming it. sarcastic

I know, I know I'm a bit spoiled but that's what happens when you get used to the space. Not that I really need all that space and honestly I don't cook much but scrambled eggs and pasta so who really needs a full kitchen for that but it's sooooooooooo nice to be able to have a living room seperate from the bedroom. It just makes enjoying the resort much more pleasurable.

Now before I discovered timeshares any motel 6 room was fine.

Isn't that always the way? It's much easier to enjoy something when you haven't experienced the "better" alternative. Although I will say once I include price, resorts like Pop Century make a lot of sense for us. We love the Beach Club, but probably not 5-6 times as much.

It really is nice to spread out. Even if you don't need the space, it's nice to have it available. Just in case...

Still, like with most of my Disney decisions, I usually pick going more often with less space, than the other way around.

Oh so true, for 35 years I was content to stay in Kissimmee and stay at the Days Inn for $25 a night until we stayed in Old Town and someone tried to steal our car. Also, the dicey crowd staying at the motel scared me enough to reconsider staying anymore in Kissimmee.

Then I decided to treat myself for my birthday to a stay at Coronado Springs and I foolishly did the DVC tour. The rest is history.

Now I can't go to Orlando unless it's in a timeshare either DVC or another RCI deal You'd be surprised to know how cheap Orlando really is with Timeshares. I've gotten 2 bedrooms for a week for $79 a week. It wasn't DVC or in Disney but it was still nice and for $79 who can complain. It doesn't happen often but I went last October and picked up a deal like that. mickey

We do not like extra space and when we stayed at WL therefore we did not feel or think about this matter. We always feel comfortable. The most important points are location of resort and services and we consider those points.
