DTD Expanding

I tried to search to see if I could find where this had been discussed, and didn't see anything about it. I forgot to mention that while we were there, one night, we caught the last boat back to POR. There was just a few of us and the boat Captain was very friendly and started asking us if we knew they were expanding DTD.

Anywho, he told us that they are adding 180 new stores and restaurants! He said that they are planning to have it completed by 2016. I forget the exact number he told us, but the current amount of stores and restaurants was around 170. My goodness...that will double the size!

You guys may already know this but for some reason, I just remembered it.

Probably couldn't find anything because they are also going to be calling the area Disney Springs! mickey I'm pretty excited to see what they have done for our upcoming trip.

Yea I'm pretty sure we've talked about it somewhere. World of Disney is also getting bigger as well! They are adding a parking garage as well for parking.

If I remember correctly they are going to build 2 new parking garages at DTD (Disney Springs).

When we were there we must have had the same boat operator awesome
he said it was creating 4,000 jobs with the construction and new business's.
The construction area for the garage looked like the framework was going up.
I did take pictures of the proposed Starbucks - i will include it in my
trip report when I get the photo's uploaded.

We road the boat and the buses mostly, but when we did drive one night, there was construction walls and such around. We were still able to find parking though.

Has anyone seen the new Co-op that took the place of Team Mickey? It looked like it was going to be pretty cool. From what I could tell online, at least. I think that was a Disney Parks Blog article, too.
