DV dollars/points

Hello All!

Well we are close enough to our trip that it's time to cash in on our Disney dollars. Not a lot, but more than we had. Anyhoo, if we turn these two cards we have over to the desk at the concierge of Coronado, will they be able to put it as a credit to our room. From that we can swipe the bands and use that money first? I really don't want to carry around a bunch of cards. As it is I will only have my DV and ID in my DH's wallet until or if needed, in case we need proof or want a discount somewhere and DH isn't with me.

Thanks for the insider help! confused confused confused

Firstly, if you want to redeem your Disney Credit card rewards, the easiest way is to do it through the credit card company. Contact the credit card company and redeem the credits you've earned. You can call them or do it online. Give yourself at least 3-4 weeks before your trip for your redemption card to arrive. If you don't redeem your rewards before your trip, you can pick up a redemption card at Guest services in the parks. I personally wouldn't want to wait to do it in the parks because you never know what kind of line you'll encounter at Guest services, and it's so easy to do it online. No resorts can redeem your rewards though.

Secondly, if you plan on using your disney credit card anywhere during your trip, you must have your card on you at all times for verification. The Disney visa website states very clearly that you must present your card when making a purchase, even if it is linked to a magic band. We use one of our Disney cc for every single purchase we make at WDW. We have used it hundreds of times and we have had to show the actual card every single time.

if you want to receive the discount using the Disney Visa, you must have the card on you for verification. If you don't care about the discount, and just want to charge back to your room, you will have a pin code you will need to punch in to verify your charge. We have only ever charged a few drinks back to our room once or twice, so maybe someone else can give you some better info.

Also as of the last time we were in WDW in May, to get the DVC Discount, AP Discount & Tables in Wonderland discounts you also have to have those cards on you as well to be able to show for verification.

Thanks. We already have our second card on its way (they told us online we still have time). So, we will just carry the two cards with us. We do use the room charge so we don't have to carry money or are charge/debit cards with us. Obviously with this one, we will carry both the Disney credit card AND the money card. biggrin 18 days and counting!!!!
