He certainly did! Six mini concerts over the two days, amazing.

Yes, the restaurant scene is probably my favorite part about Atlanta. Many outsiders don't realize just how many outstanding restaurants there are in Atlanta. Speaking of amazing dining experiences, tonight we're going to Dante's Down the Hatch with some friends. That place is so unique, one would think it should be a restaurant at one of the Disney parks! But I digress...

In regards to F&W, I've never done any of the special events there. The past couple of years it's been kind of a "guys only" type of trip so we turn it into a party day. Kind of like you said, cruising around eating and drinking and taking it all in. Fun times! It's hard to pick a favorite country, but if I had to I would have to say Mexico. The mayan pyramid itself is amazing, but what puts it over the top is the tequila bar. We always start F&W off with a shot there and then make our way around the world.

And you? Do you have a fav?

Dante's! You know, I was never there. DH has been, and said it was really cool. Probably my fave Atlanta restaurants are Bacchanalia and Canoe. I like the "classics" clearly Smile...

As for F&W - you soooo can't go wrong. But I especially love, well, like you, things that you can get all the time, actually. The tequila bar, of course! And the sake in Japan - I didn't even know that was back there until about 4 years ago. Finally, the Rose & Crown. It's so fun to order a Black and Tan there and hang out.

Gin Blossoms are showing EPCOT/Eat to the Beat concert dates of 9-27 and 9-28. Problem is that F&W doesn't begin until 9-30. Trying to confirm if correct dates are 10-27 and 10-28. Will advise.

October 27-28 is correct

I like Gin Blossums and this will be my first chance to catch them here....I will catch them all except for probably Pointer Sisters

Saw Hanson last year and love it!...

If you actually want to get a seat in the concert area for one of these, how early to you have to get in line?

I may try to make it to a Sounds Like Summer concert next Sunday. Hotel California, the Eagles Tribute Band that plays then. I have an ADR at La Hacienda at 8:30 so maybe go to one of the early concerts then go eat and see Fantasmic from the restaurant.

What time should I go get in line to be seated for the concert?

Karen, I don't really remember that the crowds were such that you had to wait in line. I mean, I don't know if they stop people from sitting during the performance, but I don't recall ever seeing a concert that was as busy as, say, Candlelight Processional.

Can anyone provide more insight?

In 2009 we got in to see Richard Marx no problem and he was about the biggest name on the bill.

Not like Dec 2010 trying to get in to see Whoopi at the Candlelight Processional! People started queueing so early, I mean as World Showcase opened for the first show, line went back past Germany and told we would not be guaranteed a seat even for the last show at 8pm!!

So many ADRs and then it did not help that a D23 convention was in town! We stood at the back instead and watched as only about say 50 people got in to the first show from the line.

Enjoy!

I see that The Orchestra (ELO) is in the lineup this year. Has anyone seen them perform recently? If so, any thoughts/opinions on how they stack up with the rest of the lineup? Thanks in advance.

I saw The Orchestra in the UK a couple of years ago, they were really good but I'm not sure if their line up is still the same now.
