EBAY

Has anyone here had much success selling your Disney things on EBAY? Does anyone here have a store there?

I have a purse up for sale and I just want it gone, but no one is cooperating. waiting By that I mean no one has bought it yet.

How long has it been up for? The key to being successful on ebay is all in the pricing, people want something for nothing these days and if you only dabble here and there it can hard to build up your reputation and score etc, some people will only buy from those with big, consistent stores etc.

Most of the time little to interest will be shown in a product until the last minute so hang in there! If you have listed it multiple times and are getting nowhere you might have to look at lowering the price or offering free postage

I tried regular bidding sales twice with no success. Other people selling the same purse have it on "Buy it now" so thats what I did too. I put it on Buy it now about 5.00 cheaper then the others. So now I wait. I was just wondering if others have had success or if it was slow going. The person I bought my purse from seems to sell them them like it is a fire sale. She has sold 7 or 8 of them in the last 3 weeks and hers are more expensive then mine. I should have just sent it back for a refund rather then try to resale the item. It's not like I am trying to make a profit on it. sad

As much as I buy things on ebay, I sometimes find it easier to sell on craiglist. Such as the motorcycle I have on there now, if you're in New Jersey (wink, wink).

lol I'm not sure about craigslist. I guess I could try it , but it is a Dooney Bourke Disney purse so it is not for your every day craigslist buyer. I bought two so I could compare them and pick the one with the best design and now I have one to sell. As Dory would say Just keep selling, just keep selling or something like that. biggrin

True, craiglist is a little less secure if you're looking to sell something that's high end. Although it runs well, I can't honestly say my motorcycle is high end..lol.

All honesty.... Free Shipping. figure out the cost of shipping. Just add it to your price, and have it labeled Free Shipping.

angels444- I use eBay and Craigslist all the time, depending on what I am selling.

I use eBay to sell things I want to sell for a certain amount. I've had really good luck with it, especially when it's a hot item and I use the "Buy It Now" option. Craigslist is good for stuff you've got laying around that you just want to get rid of and not have to pack it and ship it... it's nice to recoup a few bucks for something instead of just giving or throwing it away.

For your bag, I would go eBay. See how many of them are on there, and price it competitively and comparably. Offering free shipping will always attract interest, and shipping probably won't be super expensive for this item anyway. Remember, it is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.

If you have any questions or need help, please don't hesitate to hit me up!

Good luck!

Thanks Stummer. I have had it up for over 30 days now between all 3 listings. It is 5 dollars cheaper then everyone else. I might go with free shipping but I am already taking a 25.00 lose on it. I bought 2 of the same purse to compare the patterns and then chose one and listed one. Big mistake. yuck If you go to Ebay and enter

NEW Dooney & Bourke Disney Sketch Shoulder Bag Nylon Bag

you will see the listing. Maybe I can improve it in some way. Description wise all the facts are the same as bags from other sellers. It the sort of thing no matter who's bag it is it is a sketch bag, it is so tall, so wide and they all have the same interior. The only difference is the pattern on the bag and I think mine is one of the better ones out there because mine has the Castle and TWO Mickeys on the front and back.

I will take constructive criticism from anyone with some thoughts. I can still change the listing.

Thanks for the support guys.

I have no experience on EBay, haven't sold and don't really shop there. The only comment that I have is that the Sketch Disney Dooney's are not made of nylon. They're a cotton canvas covered in PVC with leather trim. That PVC coating makes them VERY long lasting.

Angels, have you tried a local consignment shop? You still wouldn't be getting the full price back, but it'd be better than nothing if it doesn't sell online.

Cookie it is 225.00 plus priority shipping.

Maybe I should improve the pic's. No one has commented on that but they were taken with my phone. Maybe pics from hazegry can improve my listing.

I've sold a lot of Disney merch on EBAY in the past 6 months... And have made quite a bit of money in doing so, that in return will be used for my Disneymoon! I have found great success in searching for the product that I am selling... And changing the advanced settings to "Completed listings".... This will show you what that particular item has sold for in the past... That way you know what dollar amount to start your item at... You can see how many people bid on it... if it sold at all... Etc... It's really a great tool and has come in really handy for me.

Another way to get the word out there that you've put something up on ebay people may be interested in... Is to use Pinterest! Your item will be flashed to a lot of people that way... And I give a lot of credit to that site for the items i've sold....

If I think of anything else... I'll let you know! Good luck selling your purse! I just got a Disney Donney as a gift and I love love love it!

After 4 listing and 8 weeks my purse sold yeah Funny thing is the person that bought it lives in the next town over from where my husband grew up. Small world. We are talkiing really, maybe 10,000 people.

I finally sold it! Money for Mickey. mickey Disney has a way of holding you upside down and shake the change out of your pockets until it is all gone. rolling So I have more to spend. Can you tell I am happy.

Campbell I finally followed your advice and went with free shipping. awesome I figured if it was coming from a campbell it had to be good advice. Thanks for everyone tips and suggestions I followed them all and made a lot of changes.

I have sold several things on ebay but have never been this excited about it . I sold my purse yeah

the person I sold my purse to wrote me the following tonight.

Hello,

I just receive this today. I found it on the Disney store website today for $198. Will you match that? I am very sorry. I did not research more before I bought it! I truly hate to return it but 27 buck is 27 bucks.

Thanks

Alex

I wrote back and said I am sorry but I don't price match LIKE ANYONE DOES ON EBAY ( I didnt say that part) and I did not mention anything about accepting returns. lol but I was so upset I wrote expecting lol
