Ever ridden the carousel?

I try to do pretty much everything no matter how kiddie. I've ridden Goofy's Barnstormer and lots of other rides I was probably too big for. But I can't bring myself to get on the carousel. Have you ridden it?

I've ridden plenty of carousels but never the one in MK.

We rode it on our last trip...which was our "let's do things we've never done before" trip. I love carousels...my hometown had one of the originals from the early 1900s...it was just beautiful...until a roofing crew burned it down. It was so sad thousands of people went to the fire scene to mourn the loss. A new one was built in it's place but it surely was an irreplaceable treasure.

So did the roofing crew get paid? eek

I've ridden the carousel a total of....once! I rode it a long time ago -- maybe 5 years ago? -- and just haven't found the time since sad Maybe that'll be a must-do for me on the next trip.

I ride it each time I go and I force whoever is with me to do it also! It's such a main staple for me! It is one symbol I associate with Fantasyland and I will continue to ride it every time I go!

It does have a long history, but the combination of a lack of excitement and feeling a bit goofy keeps me off of it. Maybe if I had gone to WDW when I was younger.

Millie -- I love that idea of a "things we've never done before" trip!

I rode the carousel on one of my first "adult" trips -- I wanted to say I'd ridden every single ride in the World! ;-D

That really is a fabulous idea. Although at some point I might have to hit some old favorites on the dining part of the trip. There's a reason we've avoided a lot of the restaurants we haven't been to. laugh

I hear you Brad. There are some restaurants we just can't miss. Boma is always a favorite and it just about "killed" me to not eat there last trip. But Ohana was a nice "substitute"!!

Next trip we're hoping to have breakfast at Kona Cafe...we've never done a sit down breakfast before so that'll count as a "never before"!!

I thought the "Never Done" idea was so good I gave it it's own thread.

I love carousels especially the horses that go up and down. I rode it last year and will again this year, even if no one else wants to go on it.

This is when I like to ride the carousel, too! It's not "line worthy" for me, but there is something really magical about riding Cinderella's horse (the one with the ribbon) at 2 am in a park that feels like your own with the castle shimmering in the dark <3

Are you kidding me?! It's a tradition! Always! Before kids, with kids, without kids - always ride the carousel! (Clearly, I'm alone in this Smile

And no benches or standing beside the kid for me. I want my OWN horse.

If I would go on it... it would make me sick... I can do roller coasters or ToT.... but that... Dumbo... Tea Cups would just kill me
