Ever wish your ride would get stuck so you could get pictures?

I remember the last time I was riding through Spaceship Earth I was thinking, I wish someone would need special assistance so we could sit still long enough to get a good picture in this light. Anyone ever have this thought? Have any good pics from this situation?

I always wondered if you tried that in Haunted Mansion or Spaceship Earth if they would ask you to erase them. I mean, getting pictures in those rides is virtually impossible, but if you actually DID get them (you would definitely need a flash) would they care?

I've seen lots of photos on blogs and websites from inside the rides -- I wish I knew how they got them! Even without flashes!

This would depend on which ride and where exactly I was stuck. We got stuck in the tunnel in Fast Track once. I bet we waited at least 10-15 minutes. All we could see was the curve sign ahead of us though. Nothing worth taking a picture of. We did send a text to a friend waiting for us that would not ride saying "stuck in traffic, dont hold dinner".

There are a lot of places I definitely would NOT like to get stuck. I wouldn't mind getting stopped in the Haunted Mansion where the ride would stay still long enough I could get a decent picture without a flash. Long enough to set up a tripod would be perfect. laugh

Worst place to get stuck = heat room in Test Track!

Well, that, or like I did once in Mission Space - but only that if you're claustrophobic (which apparently I am).

laugh That's such a great story! Not the getting stuck part, but the text message.

I sometimes do wish the ride would get stuck so I can look at the detail and themeing. Spaceship Earth is definitely one of the rides I wouldn't mind getting stuck on. Also the fantasyland rides like Peter Pan and Pooh; they go so fast that I can't really look at everything.

Your story about getting stuck on Mission: Space is nearly enough to make me not ride it again. I don't enjoy it enough to take the risk! laugh

We were stuck on Haunted Mansion before..for about twenty minutes..unfortunately it wasn't anywhere cool. It was about three inches before the exit..we weren't close enough to hop out on the platform and we were too far into the light to be excited about it.
The coolest place we've ever been stuck was right before the big drop on Splash Mountain right under the birds. The not so cool part? We were the first log stopped so every time a log caught up it slammed into the back of us. There was about a ten log pile up by the time we started again.

That seems to always be our fate on Pirates of the Caribbean.

We've been in a few five boat pile up at POC as well but never more than a few minutes.

laugh How long were you stuck, MrHub? I know we've been stuck at the end in a boat pile-up, but never in the middle of the whole thing! we could at least see the light at the end of the tunnel!

We once got stuck in the last bit of IASM waiting to unload for what seemed like ages (probably only a few minutes). The music drove me insane!

Well Admin, it seemed like "FOR EVER!" but I would say it was at least 10-15 miniutes. You loose all track of time in there.

There's a very clear line. You go from kind of enjoying the music to suddenly homicidal. There's a clear point of IASW music overdose and it's best not to play around with that line.

I agree. I sing the song the entire time during the ride (not loud enough to be heard by anyone other than Joe, who then tries to push me out the boat), then need 27 weeks of shock therapy to get it out of my head.

We did get stuck once at the floating head in the Haunted Mansion. but got crappy pictures because I never took the time to figure out how to use my camera correctly.

I don't think you need a flash to get great dark ride photos. Most of the scenes you would want to capture, to me, are perfectly lit. You camera just needs to capture that light. So you need need a steady shot with long exposure.
