Expedition Everest

Finally got to ride Expedition Everest at the Animal Kingdom. For those who have not yet ridden this coaster.....DO IT!!!!! This has got to be a must do on your list of rides next time you visit Disney. And I highly recommend sitting in the front car. It's an amazing experience! And keep your eyes open for the Yeti. It comes and goes quick but it's HUGE!!! Very impressive!!

This is a wonderful coaster. One of my favorites, though I can't ride it over and over again--it's one of the only rides at WDW that actually does make me a little queasy!

Bali, I can only ride it once or twice in a row myself. I learned that 3 times is one too many. silly

WDWfan- Di you get to try it in the last car as well? I can't decide which car I like better. They both rock! Also, was the Yeti working again yet? I heard rumors that it may never swipe again. sad

I like a car slightly up from the back, although I like the back too. When you're all the way in the back though, you can't really see the drop while you're going down it. A couple of cars up and you can actually see the drop which makes it more exciting. It's kind of weird to ask for the "3rd car from the back" though so we usually just ask for the back. laugh

I haven't done extra evening hours at AK yet. It sounds like they are less crowded. I can't imagine walking on & off ExEv! That must have been great.

We are huge fans of evening EMH at AK. It's our very favorite park to do in the evening and we look forward to it our whole trip! We've never had an instance where we can't ride EE, or any of our other favorites, many times during EMH.

I think people still consider AK a 1/2 day park, and so don't stick around if there are evening EMH.

No kidding yuck

Also, just to steal wdwfan's question, the last car is the BEST as far as we're concerned! The train has so much momentum by the time the last car goes over the huge drop that it just FLIES! clapping

We totally missed stuff during EMH at AK last year. It was like, everything was closed early - the animals are taken in at I think 6pm - we kinda just wandered around

That can be a problem. You have to go wanting to ride Kali, Everest, Dino-land rides, and ITTBAB, or you're pretty much out of luck. Luckily, we love riding those, so we really enjoy AK EMH.

Did you ever experience that Alien Encounter ride that was in Tomorrowland? I LOVED that - is it like that?

After I rode ExEv for the first time, which was I think in December, 2005, I called my brother and told him that it was like Big Thunder Mountain on steroids.

That's a good description except BTMRR has no real drops. EE has a lot of twists like BTMRR but it does have one good big drop! awesome

I like drops better than turns personally.

That's a pretty good explanation!

I miss AE, the stitch thing is fun but not near as scary. Tough to be a Bug is a LOT less scary. Think HIStA with a few live animatronics thrown in. It dose have a few more scary moments than HIStA though.

Oh ,man! We LOVED Alien Encounter. That was Max's favorite attraction. He was ready to kill Eisner over that one.

I have the whole Alien Encounter on CD. We listen to it in the car & talk about how much we loved that attraction.

BTMRR on steriods! Exactly! awesome

Both AE and Stitch's Great Escape are pretty unpopular with the kids. I wonder though if it doesn't make sense to have at least one semi-scary ride. When I was young PotC and Haunted Mansion seemed scary.

Dinosaur can be scary, but if we're talking JUST Magic Kingdom--yeah--no scary ones.

i think maybe if we weren't all so familiar with it, the haunted mansion could be scary.
