Fastpass + for Dummies

Somehow, I've managed to open a huge gap in my WDW knowledge.

I understand regular Fastpass. We've used it to our immense advantage, both before and after they started enforcing the closing times. (For anyone really new to it all, Fastpass is a free service that allows anyone-- staying onsite or off site-- to avoid a huge line at a ride. You put your park tickets into the machine, and it spits out a FP ticket, which gives you access to a MUCH shorter line within a limited time window.)

I've gotten bits and pieces of info on FP+.

But could someone lay out the differences between the "old" system and the new? When is it being implemented? How is it different?

Either a concrete explanation or a link to one would be greatly appreciated!

Just read the link and wow it just seems so complicated to learn. It probably isn't too bad but for me it just seems like one more thing to get use to. I had to stop the video half way through. Oh well guess I will just have to get use to it.

Well, you don't have to use it if you don't want to. They give you that option.

I think one of the reasons that it seems difficult right now is because it hasn't been fully implemented yet. We've only really got bits and pieces of information. I'm sure that once everyone has access and the entire MyMagic+ program has rolled out it will make a lot more sense. There is a LOT of new stuff coming this year in terms of planning, and there will be a learning curve, but I think we'll all come through it just fine!
