Favorite Magic Kingdom Table Service Restaurant

In this poll, we will see what is the most favorite table service restaurant at the Magic Kingdom. While some time the comparison may be rather difficult (i.e. how does one compare a character buffet dining with a proper sit-down service), it nevertheless should be a useful evaluation on where people actually like to eat at MK.

You can use any kind of criteria to pick your one most favorite place, be it food quality, atmosphere, service, or a combination of all of them.

Gee I'm first to respond so let me start it off by voting for LTT, it's at the top of the food charts as far as MK goes. I should say that it ranked higher when it was a character meal but it is still at the top. IMHO!! Good food and good waitstaff and goos atmosphere and ambience.

I voted for Crystal Palace. I think on the basis of food quality alone, I would have absolutely chosen Liberty Tree Tavern, but Crystal Palace gets you into the MK early, it's still a character meal, which is fun, and it's a buffet, which can be as fast as you need it to be while also being table-service (and I admittedly have the taste buds of a 5-year-old).

I think I have to go with Vettelover and go with Liberty Tree Tavern. While I would put Crystal Palace, LTT and CRT all in contention for being my favorite, ultimately LTT is the place I go the most consistently there.

You know I'm a big fan of LTT, but I had to choose Cinderella's. If you can only eat at one place in the MK, make it the castle!! muchlove

One more vote for Liberty Tree. I never get tired of that place.

I voted for Crystal Palace.

1. It has, hands down, the best food in MK. In fact, several cast members that I know of flatly told me that Crystal Palace has THE best buffet in all of WDW theme parks. The first time I ate there, I was surprised at how good of a quality of food they have for a buffet, and for a character buffet no less. Typically, when they have other "distractions" such as that, they skimp a bit on the food (coughCinderellaRoyalTablecough!) because the presence of the characters kinda make up for it. But not in this case. So for me, the food quality is #1 first and foremost.

2. Character interactions. Of course, you get to meet Pooh and Tigger and Piglet and Eeyore. That's the fun part.

The drawbacks here is that the noise level can get quite a bit high at time, especially when they have the parade. The second part is that, depending on how fast you eat and how full the restaurant is (it is usually busy), you may encounter each of the characters only once. When they still had the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern, the characters came by our table several times during the dinner.

So Crystal Palace is my most favorite table service restaurant at MK.

Do any of the other restaurants have Eeyore? No? Well I guess that decision was easy!

That's true. You definitely have to visit Crystal Palace knowing full well what you're getting into regarding kids and noise! laugh

LTT Because after a week of running around Disney wolfing down all that unusual food It's nice to get Meatloaf and mashed potatoes (Without my "Aunt" telling everyone what A piggy I am because I finished my plate (50's PTC))

Sometimes I feel that the "cheeky" status of the banter there translates into permission to be mean. I thought they were supposed to chide you if you DIDN'T finish your meal. sarcastic

I'm giving Cinderella's Royal Table a vote. While I really enjoy all of Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace and CRT, I feel like CRT is getting a bad rap. I think it has a lot of charm and the food is pretty decent in my humble opinion. Obviously it's not on par with the "good" restaurants, but I'd put it in the same ballpark as LTT.

Can I vote none of the above? I guess I wil vote for Crystal Palace...but I tend to follow the commandment

Thou shall not eat sit down at the Magic Kingdom. I am just eh about most of it.

I do like the Crystal Palace, but not enough to want to go there more than every 4th or 5th trip

Is the commandment for the sake of time or just that you don't like any of the restaurants?

I'm not sure how often I'd eat at any of the restaurants if they were somewhere else, but getting to eat inside the Magic Kingdom goes a long way in my book.

Like Zapper, I was totally shocked in how much I enjoyed the food at Crystal Palace. We ate there for a first seating of lunch after an early entry morning at MK. I scheduled it for the Grandkids, but I think all of us adults liked it just as much as the kids (5 adults, 2 kids)

We liked it so much that we do it just about every trip even as a party of all adults.

To be fair, I haven't eaten at LTT yet. I'm just not a huge comfort foods kind of person.

i like to get milkshakes there. it's actually a pretty nice place to get a light-ish meal. the tables are too close together for my liking though.

Hi,

I vote for comfort food and the Liberty Tree Tavern. I like the American Colonial atmosphere there. A close second to Crystal Palace. Good food for a buffet.

I do. I'd say it's the least interesting table service restaurant on property. It's basically a counter service in every sense, except that you're served, if that makes any sense at all. One very strong thing it has going for it though, is it's location. Like Crystal Palace, the end of Main St. USA, facing the hub is definitely prime real estate.

Regarding the poll, I have eaten at all of them, so I guess I'd be a good candidate to vote. I went with LTT. Actually, in a sense, it's improved now that it's no longer a character meal. Don't get me wrong, I love a character meal as much as the next Disney nerd, but for the first time I was able to really enjoy LTT for what it was, without the distraction of characters. Underneath it all, it's a decent sit down restaurant.

But couldn't one have such an experience even before they removed the character dining by having lunch there? The character dining only occurs for dinner. I thought that was a good compromise.

I have no reason now to go to LTT for meals anymore. I can get turkey and ham dinner anywhere, even at home. There's nothing unique about the food being served. It was the character interaction, and lots of it, that made it special. It is no longer that anymore.
