Find The Truth

In this game each person presents three or more statements of fact, only one of which is true. The next person identifies which one is true and then repeats the process. I'll start:

1.) The Haunted Mansion ride was originally envisioned as a Haunted Museum.
2.) The name "Disney" is actually changed from "d'Isigny", a village in France.
3.) In Toy Story Midway Mania if you shoot a correct sequence of plates in the Army screen, Buzz Lightyear will congratulate you.

Sounds like fun! But that one's tough. I'm going to have to do some googling this evening.

The France Village is the truth!

Now--which is the truth:
1. The monorail is the fastest ride in Disney World.
2. ESPN Club on the Boardwalk is the only place in Disney World where you can purchase Pepsi products.
3. Walt Disney holds the record for most Academy Awards won.

The Pepsi/ESPN Club is the truth.

Next: Which statement is true?

1. Aerosmith was NOT the first choice of rock band to host Rock'n'Roller Coaster.

2. Tower of Terror is 199 feet tall because Disney would have had to pay higher taxes if it's height exceeded 200 feet.

3. A likeness of Walt Disney's face can be seen as a bust in The Haunted Mansion.

Nope! The truth is that Walt Disney has the record for most academy awards! (I checked the menu (scroll down to see it): http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/disneys-boardwalk/dining/espn-club/ and it only sells coke products (as do all establishments on Disney property)).

The true statement on yours Imagineer is that Aerosmith was not the first choice for RnRC--it was CHEAP TRICK! awesome

Next:

1. Alcohol is not served anywhere in Disneyland
2. When Mickey Mouse was first created, Walt gave him a middle name to commemorate his late uncle: Elmer
3. Pee-Wee Herman (actually, Paul Reubens) has done voiceover work for a Disney World ride

He's the Pilot in Star Tours.

1. The Matterhorn Has a full Basketball Court hidden in the top of the mountain.

2. Epcot Has a full utilidor system just like the magic kingdom.

3. The Enchanted tiki room birds came from when Walt bought a toy bird that moved and chirped but never in sync so he took it to his engineering department and asked them to fix it!

You got me on that one bali!!

But if I may..though you were correct in picking the truth on mine, your explanation had a slight mistake. The Rolling Stones were the first choice.

I'm guessing #3 is the truth, because the basketball court is BELOW the Matterhorn, and Epcot only has a tunnel (used for storage) below the Land. mickey

Next up:
1. Space Mountain was the first attraction to be born in Disney World and copied in Disneyland, instead of the other way around.

2. The official name of the Magic Kingdom's castle is "Cinderella's Castle"

3. A ticket on the Fort Wilderness steam train was $2.00 in 1974.

Your right, it's #3. but the court is on top of the Matterhorn, It's just a 1/2 court.

The truth is that Space Mtn was the first attraction to be born in Disney World and copied in Disneyland!

Here we go:

1. Mickey's country house bedroom always looks the same--it's purposefully never changed so that guests always get the same experience.

2. The Haunted Mansion is the only attraction to be located in different "lands," depending on which Disney theme park you're visiting around the world.

3. The Osborne Family spectacle of lights was donated by Ozzy and Sharon in 1998.

#2 is true, the others false.

Next:

1. The Three Cabelleros was an idea born on a vacation that Walt and Lily took to Spain.

2. The Miami Herald was the first to break the news that Walt was behind all the land that was being bought up in Central Fl. in the mid 60s.

3. Disney had to change the name of Disney's Animal Kingdom because of pressure from another organization.

I've been stumped on this one so I may use process of elimination, but before i proceed I want to make sure I'm right:

1.) I believe was on a visit to South America.
2.) Was actually the Orlando Sentinel.
So that leaves me with #3, which sounds plausible that PETA or a similar organization would give them grief. But I'm not sure on this one, so I'd like a confirmation before I proceed. crossfingers

You got it right Brad.

Disney's original choice for the name of the park was "Wild Kingdom", but the creators of the television show of the same name pressured them to change it.

Your turn! mickey

Alrighty then:

1.) "Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas" Means "Please keep hands and feet out of doorways."
2.) Disney World will not make an announcement over the loudspeaker for a lost child.
3.) The pavement change between Morocco and France is intended to represent the Bering Sea.

The truth is that Disney World will not make an announcement for a lost child. The only time they make a loudspeaker announcement is to call a guest because there has been a death they need to know of. sad

Next:
1. Mickey Mouse is the most reproduced image in the world

2. Disney World stopped serving eggs for a brief time in 1982 because of a salmonella scare

3. Epcot's geodesic sphere has 674 triangles on its surface

Of course 1. Mickey Mouse is the most reproduced image in the world is the truth.

1. Walt went bankrupt 7 times.
2. Disney's Oswald was rejected by the Universal studios due to sloppiness.
3. Mickey's first words were spoken in 1928 in "The Karnival Kid".

Walt went bankrupt once. "The Karnival Kid" was 1929, not 1928.

The truth, ironically enough, is indeed that Oswald was turned away for sloppiness.

How would you like to be the exec who made THAT decision? yuck

Okay, let's see:

1. Summit Plummet at Disney's Blizzard Beach is taller than Cinderella's Castle at Disney's Magic Kingdom.
2. WDW is the largest purchaser of explosives in the country.
3. No U.S. President has ever seen himself on display inside The Hall of Presidents.

OK
1. Summit Plummet is 120ft were as Cinderella's Castle is 189ft
2 WDW is second only to the US military in purchasing explosives

so it must be 3. am I correct?
