Gourmet Hotdogs

I was just reading this review of the Fairfax Fare and the Macaroni & Cheese and Truffle Oil (and Bacon) Hot Dog over on the Disney Food Blog.

WOW!!!!

Have you tried any of the other gourmet hot dogs?

I heard AJ talk about it on the Podcast and it sounds SO good. I am not really a hotdog kind of girl either...but macaroni and cheese..and bacon?? I'm there! Although...that BBQ Pork one looks pretty good too...Oh decisions.

I had the bbq slaw dog at Casey's Corner last year. It was scrumptious!

I know Disney is pretty pricy but 8 dollars and change does seem a bit much for a hotdog don't you think?

I used my counter service credit through the dining plan. It does seem like a lot, but the hotdog is huge as are all of the toppings, and with the dining plan, you get the hotdog, french fries, a drink and dessert. I opted for the cotton candy!

they are a little pricey, but they fill you up for a while, not like the regular dogs you would get from a vendor

My hubby tried the BBQ Slaw dog (minus the slaw) and loved it! I really want to try the mac and cheese one!

That bbq slaw hotdog is the way hotdogs were meant to be consumed in my humble, cultural opinion! Smile I cannot WAIT to try it! But the mac and cheese one is a little...odd for me.

Those look amazing! Mac and Cheese is amazing on its own, on a hot dog? I think I would love it! Definitely gonna be a need to stop place!

I know my hubby has had the coleslaw and barbecue one from Casey's Corner and loved it. In fact, it is his choice of what to eat for lunch on our birthday.

sad I did not care for the BBQ Slaw dog at Casey's at all. I really really wanted to, but the BBQ on mine was dry, and I didn't like the bun. I should have ordered the Chili Dog that was my second choice.

Has anyone ever tried "The Lunching Pad" under the Astro Orbiter. We passed that up for years until we tried it 2 years ago. We eat there once a trip now

Coney Island Dog - Topped with chili, onion and mustard. served with apple slices or chips - $7.49
Philly Cheese steak Hot dog - Topped with beef, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese sauce. served with apple slices or chips - $8.19
Taco Hot Dog - topped with ground beef, lettuce, salsa, and sour cream. served with apple slices or chips - $8.19

I highly recommend these, especially the Taco!

I'm a huge fan of Chicago-style hot dogs, basically a salad on a hot dog. Do they have any of those anywhere at Disney World?

I also like chili dogs, or whatever people call a hot dog with meat sauce in various parts of the country - Texas weiners, Coneys, etc.

They claim to have a Chicago Style at Casey's, but being from the Chicago area, I have to say that it's not really Chicago style. It's a close imitation, but...

I do love Casey's Chili Cheese dog.

I had a pulled pork hot dog at the quick serve at the meadows pool at fort wilderness and I thought ewww but then I took a bite and it was delicious....then of course my family all wanted some. I come from a place where you put mustard ketchup relish and maybe some onions and that is it. I am now a fan of a loaded hot dog. I am also dying to try the taco hotdog.
