Happy Bday...and We Have Our Passes Back :-)

I'm so excited to share with you, my friends, that DD and I have our passes back! I had gotten a 3 day ticket so that I could participate in a couple of special events last week, and called it an early birthday present to myself. Well...looking at the ticketing prices online, I realized that there was only about a $40 difference between the FL resident 3 day ticket, and the FL resident weekday pass. And so...I took the plunge Smile. My mom, who has had the weekday pass since Mar, bought my daughter's pass for her for her upcoming 7th birthday.

So, it will be interesting to see how this experience differs from having the regular annual pass. I'm used to no blackout dates for myself, free parking, and, of course, weekends. Now I'll have to deal with these restrictions (though we might get creative regarding the parking situation at least some of the time.) Still, the price difference made me jump at the chance. After all, since DH has a traditional M-F job, and isn't all that enamored of Disney anyway, having the passes during the week is the perfect way to go.

YAY LIZZY B!!!!! I think this is great news! And in my opinion, you deserve to have some kind of pass! Dammit!

I will be curious to see how you end up comparing it to the regular annual passes after you've had a chance to use it, and whether you think it was a good option compared to the cost savings.

Then you can tell me what I should do when we move to Florida and are ready to get our passes! Because some day we will move to Orlando! Dammit!

And birthday

yeah Lizzy! I am so excited for you! Ours expire in Nov. so we are scraping and cutting the budget to keep them. We justify it that it's pretty much our whole entertainment budget for the month. Hopefully we can keep them, but we're teachers so we took a pay cut this year...Mike is adamant that the Disney passes stay. I know the weekday passes are less, but the only time we can go is on weekends during the school year so that wouldn't work for us.

Thanks, Jeff! IMO, I would still go with the annual if money were no object. I just love sailing through that parking kiosk and not paying! But for this year, and I think this will be a good fit.

Yeah...it was crazy when I started comparing. So I really felt this was the right thing to do. We rode Spaceship Earth while we were there last week, and it was like DD was seeing it for the first time (tho she's been on it several times.) The scenes suddenly made sense to her because of what we've been studying in history! It was so exciting to watch.
