Have you ridden The Mummy at Universal?

We didn't hit this ride on our last trip, and I'm wondering if it's worth the hype and the wait.

We ride it every time we go to universal. The queueing area is great, if a little long and the ride itself is very enjoyable. It can be a bit rough if you sit in the back.

We've never had to Q more than 20 minutes, possibly because it's always been early December which is a slow time of year.

If you ride it, prepare to feel very warm!

Sounds exciting. We've never ridden either. We waited a LONG time for a similar ride and wished we'd gone to the Mummy instead!

We rode it in September and did enjoy it. The theming and queue are among the best you'll see (especially for a non-Disney park). The ride itself is fun and certainly worth the wait. That said, I'm not sure it's something I'd want to ride again and again. The Simpsons ride on the other hand is all sorts of fantastic. I would have to say it (Simpsons) is the best motion ride I've ever been on and may be the best around. I could ride that ride again and again (although I wish every single multimedia attraction these days didn't have to incorporate some kind of "4D").

Great thread topic; I've been wondering about this.

Is it "horror-movie" scary -- do things jump out at you? (I always need to know so that my heart doesn't jump into my throat!)

There are a couple of surprises, but nothing that should have you jumping out of the seat. If I told you what they were they wouldn't be surprises and it may spoil the ride.

We did The Mummy ride when it first opened. It was pretty cool. It was rather funny too since we had two oriental ladies sitting next to us screaming in Chinese or some thing the whole time.
