Hello!

I'm new to the forums as well. I've already been posting around 'cause I don't have too many days left before our visit to WDW....I had no idea that there was sooooo much information out there. I wish I would've known about this site weeks ago! So, now I am cramming!

I'm pretty green when it comes to the Parks. I visited WDW once when I was a kid -- many moons ago -- 1980! Magic Kingdom was it baby!

I hope it doesn't take me another 30 years to go again.

I love all things Disney. I was a cast member for a little while at a local Disney Store here in Ohio as well.

We are looking forward to our trip in just three short days; we are celebrating my daughter's 5th birthday -- I think it will be one she will never forget! We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and we have many magical experiences planned. My Disney Girl tea, lunch with the Princesses at the Akershus, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, horse drawn carriage ride to just name a few....

Any suggestions for must do things that I might've missed?

Hi Tori and welcome to WDWFG. Since you are leaving in such a short time I would reccomend spend half your remaining time packing, and the other half you can spend reading tips from this website. Smile

Welcome! My wife and I are in Ohio as well!

As for must things to do... depends on what you like? For me its Tower of Terror. If you want a fun place to dine at... over in Japan is a place called Teppan Edo. They will cook the food right in front of you and everything. We did it last November and I think will always do it until we get bored with it... lol

Where are you staying?

Tori - welcome welcome! We're so glad you're here!

Wow - so exciting! - What an awesome way to celebrate your little girl's birthday. Can't wait to hear about all of your fun experiences - especially Akerhus and the Princess Tea!

Let's see...must dos...well, I LOVE Epcot, so I would say Soarin' and if you and hubby are so inclined, La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico is a must do imo.

Sounds like you have a lot of fun things planned! Just remember that you WON'T do it all in one trip so relax and enjoy yourself!

Thank you for all the warm welcomes....I feel like today was a total black hole. I work at the election polls each year, and basically I lose a whole day...and right before the vacation this time... Tongue

I am starting to feel anxious...like I'm not remembering to do something...

ugh! eek

Make a list! Then start crossing things off. That always helps me settle right down. And barring the calming effects of a list...do a shot of tequila biggrin

I agree with the others, just try to relax. You will forget to pack something, your children will pitch a fit in public, you will make 1st timer-errors, etc. This cannot be avoided. Just try to realize that the trip will be magical, even if it is not perfect. Enjoy yourself and take your time getting around the parks. Again, you will never see everything and do everything as there is too much to see and do. Just try to do those things that are on your 'must do' list and then go from there. mickey

6 months is a while, but I'll trade you. At least you have a trip planned. silly

Of course it's entirely possible that if the stars align we'll go before 6 months, but given recent history that doesn't look likely.

stars Thank you for all the warm welcomes, advice and talking me down off the ledge on the last day!! Smile

We had a blast...it was way too short, and, yes, I did not get to do everything I had planned! But we went with the flow and it was still a super, magical trip.

Our girl got sick the first day there...mystery fever that popped up on the evening we arrived. Took her about a day and half to recoup...

They only had Children's Advil in the Mercantile which we tried, but didn't work, so we had to have the concierge arrange a delivery of Children's Tylenol from a local drug store to help beat the fever. Note to self (and all others traveling with small kids): take the thermometer and the advil and/or tylenol with you. I debated about it, and said to myself "oh she'll be fine"....HA! Murphy's law! I took her asthma stuff 'cause I knew that would be difficult to get a hold of if necessary, but I didn't take the basics....UGH. It all worked out in the end, but we probably could've salvaged our Friday sooner if I would've just had the tylenol on hand.

So we basically lost one whole day of visiting parks. In the end we cut out Animal Kingdom in favor of the Magic Kingdom 'cause we knew we weren't going to be able to do both.

All in all it was just amazing and we are so on board to go again...like now biggrin Well...okay, not now...but real, real soon!

mickey
