Hello All!

Just found this web site, can't believe I haven't seen it before. I am Kathy from east central Illinois. First visited WDW the year after it opened, DVC member (own OKW, Vero & HHI) since 1996 and a Platinum Castaway Club member. Have already learned some new things from this site. yay

banana Thanks for the greetings. Trip planning is much more diffcult now that our daughter is in college Sad. She is a Disney nut, too, she went to a presentation of the Disney College Program earlier this week. But that doesn't stop me.....planning vacations is one of my favorite things to do.....Being a DVC member and my husband's work schedule calls for long term planning. Our trips planned:

Dec 7 night Fantasy followed by 2 nights at AKL Kidani
March 3 nights Vero followed by 4 nights OKW
June annual trip to Hilton Head
July Door County, WI - not a Disney or DVC trip but we love it there and go every year
Dec - OKW & Vero probably

As to the question what do I like about OKW.....it's easier to say the only thing I don't like is the new decor in the remodel!

Have you ever used your DVC points in Door County? I know that there are several resorts there that you can exchange to. My husband and I looked into it a couple of years ago (we're from Rockford so it's not all that far away) but ended up just going down to Disney instead. I keep dreaming of a Disney Resort in the Dells myself.

Probably the only thing that would work in the Dells would be a Humongous WL type resort with a large indoor water park. And if I am correct there are already many of those in the area but those are not Disney.

There are a couple of places we can use our points in Door Co....but none where we want to stay...our DVC resorts have made us very picky....we like to stay on the water in Sister Bay....but I will never say never after we retire!

Yes, yes there are. In fact the biggest and most posh of them is called the Wilderness Resort, it includes standard type rooms and villas. It's very similar to something that I think Disney would do. It's just not quite the same though. sad

Welcome, iloveokw! We're so glad to have you and your expertise! You're among lots of people with lots of Diz Wisdom here and therefore in good company! (Present company excluded; I still have a lot to learn!)

I've always wanted to go down to the resort in Hilton Head...I've been to the Island itself, but never to the Disney resort there. Is it fabulous?
