Help! Need to Add People to Exisisting ADRs - Which is Best?

So with only 6 weeks notice, I've been trying to organize a Disney weekend complete with ADR's to hit everyone's requests, including Character Dining (try getting a character meal for 10 with a month's notice). waiting I have been obsessively checking reservation options multiple times a day for weeks. FINALLY got a breakfast for 10 at 1900 Park Faire just last night (for next weekend).

NOW I find out that one family member that wasn't able to come is, in fact, coming too. I need to change my reservations from 10 people to 11 (!!!!) gaah

SO... do I try my luck with the customer service gods to add another to each - or do we just show up with the extra person and wing it?

I would soooo appreciate some input...

I would not just show up with an extra person. What if they won't seat you just because of that?

I've never tried bringing an extra person for an ADR, but last year I did have to modify an ADR because an extra person was coming. It's doable. And this was 'Ohana, too, so it's doable even at the more popular restaurants. The only thing we had to do was change our arrival time.

In this situation, if I were you I would call disney dining and actually talk to a CM. I usually avoid calling at all costs but a live CM on the phone might be more effective than you checking around the clock for another ADR for 11 instead of 10. Good luck I hope you get it, one way or another!

I agree with calling to speak with a CM. It would be much easier than leaving it up to the internet gods! They really do try to work with you to get you what you need.

Yes. I neglected to mention that when I added a person to that 'Ohana reservation, it was on the phone talking with a CM.

I have had to try and add people in the past with parties greater than 10 and it's not an easy task. You're going to need to call and talk to a human, as well as be really flexible in your times. Good luck, and if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Most restaurants are configured with 70% of their tables capable of sitting four. So if you think in multiples of four, it's almost never a big deal to move from a party of 10 to a party of 11 or 12.
