Here I am!

Just joined these forums, although I'm on other Disney forums already. Found WDWforGrownups on Facebook recently, probably through DisneyFoodBlog and then just discovered that there are Forums here too, so here I am.

A little about me/us. "We" are me and hubby, both in our early 40's, no kids, and we are currently planning our 3rd WDW trip together for the end of October. Our first trip together was Jan. 2006 and then our last trip was Nov/Dec 2007...so it's been a few years. Hubby went to WDW several times as a kid, the last time was in the mid 80's. So things were a lot different for him when we went back in 2006. My first ever trip was in 2000 (or was it 2001?) with my sisters and their families - staying at Shades of Green since my BIL is (now retired) USAF. There were 9 of us total. I made a couple day trips after that since I had a friend who lived in Orlando.

Anywho...our Oct trip is a big celebration for us. It will not only be 10 years that we've been together (June will be our 8th wedding anniversary, but we met in Oct. 2002), but we're also celebrating paying off our debt with this DELUXE trip. And by Deluxe, I mean resort and dining plan. We will be staying at the Yacht Club! During our last trip, we said that we wouldn't be going again until we paid off all the debt. We knew approximately when that would be, but it still seemed so far away.

So, here I am! Looking forward to spending some time here on the boards as I plan our trip. I'm currently showing my lack of patience as I wait for MNSHHP dates, the Nov. park hours and the Eat to the Beat lineup to be announced so I can make the final plans for our ADR's before our call-in date of April 30th. I know I'll have all this info very soon, but it feels like I've been waiting FOREVER!

Talk to you soon!

MNSSHP and F&W time is probably my favorite time of year to go! Have you stayed at the Yacht club before? It's one of my favorites.

welcome

Hi Kelleigh and welcome to WDWFG. Glad you found our corner of the web, I am sure that you will find the people here to be courteous and considerate and that is just one of the things that make this site the BEST.

Hello kelleigh1!!

Welcome to a great, laid back Disney community! Super congrats on paying off your debt and heading to Disney to celebrate! LoL... I think that would just put me in more debt!

Thanks for the welcomes.

To answer Brad: no, haven't stayed at the Yacht Club before. This trip will be all about FIRSTS. First time going Deluxe. And with all our ADR's, they are all places we've never eaten. Also our first MNSHHP and F&W. Previously we stayed at POFQ and CBR. The POFQ trip, we didn't get the dining plan and we were on a pretty tight budget, so we did a lot of dining offsite with gift cards and such.

And Kristen K.: the good news is, the trip itself is already paid off. And we've got spending money put aside. We will only need to pay for our flight back (haven't booked that yet, but we have a flight down) and the rental car. And we have plenty of time to put aside the $$ for those things too, so all will be paid off before we go.

Just saw your list on another thread. Good choices. I'm hoping BOG will be opened too. It's on my list for November.

not sure about the eat to the beat line up, but you can pretty much figure out the mnsshp by the times the park close which are out for most of october, the nights that the mk closes at 7:00 are usually the nights of the mnsshp

I do have the October hours. I just need to see November because we're not leaving until Nov. 3rd and we'd been thinking about the Nov. 1 party, but have heard that it's possible that instead of Nov. 1, it will be on Nov. 2, so we need the Nov. schedule to make sure.

November hours are now available. And it looks like the final MNSHHP will be Nov. 2 instead of Nov. 1, so that means a change in plans for us. We had thought to go on Nov. 1, but since we're flying home on Nov. 3, I don't want to go the night before we leave.

So now the choice is...Oct. 28 (Sunday) or Oct. 30 (Tuesday). We don't want to go Halloween night.

Where did you see the November hours? I was looking at the Disney World site and calendars only went to October.

Hi Kelleigh! I'm catching up on my welcomes Smile I see that your April 30 "Book ADRs" date has passed! Were you able to get everything that you were hoping? What did you decide about MNSSHP?

It's great to have you here. I can't wait to hear about your trip. I just love visiting WDW in October!
