Hey there, Hi there, Ho there.

Hi, I'm Corey. I am a HUGE Disney fan and kid at heart. My Disney love came from my parents who have been taking my siblings and I to WDW for years. I am the youngest of five, and the trips have gone from 3 people all the way up to 14 at times. If we could ever arrange for the whole family to get there in one trip there would now be 20 of us. My Dad always talks about how my parents and oldest brother went to WDW for two weeks when it was JUST Magic Kingdom, and STILL didn't have enough time to do everything there. I have no kids yet, but I just got married 4th of July weekend, and we are Honeymooning to WDW in September. This will be my 5th trip (6th if you include the time my Mom was pregnant with me), and will be my wife's first trip since she was 3. She was hesitant of taking our honeymoon at WDW, but once we ordered the free DVD and watched it, she was IN! My oldest brother is now a Disney vacation planner, so he has made this whole thing even easier. I've never been the planner, and barely been an adult, for any of my Disney trips so I was lost when it came to planning, and still very much am! haha.

So far I love reading everything on this site, and I can tell already that I'm going to be posting on here a lot!

Have a Magical day everyone!!!

We will be staying at the Contemporary. I can't wait to go! Michelle and I will be doing so many things that I've never even done in my trips! Dinner at Victoria & Albert's will be our fancy honeymoon dinner, special cruise for IllumiNations (also found out from this site about the wine seminar in Italy and just happen to be in EPCOT on a Monday), the dinner and a show for Fantasmic, and the Africa Trek (even with the illness scares haha). I'm still debating what sort of gift I want to get for Michelle. I have been all over the Disney Floral site, and love most of the items on it. I cannot for the life of me decide which one to do, or if there might be something better out there that I don't even know about yet!?!?!

I said my hello on another post, but I'm aloud to do it again so , welcome & congrats on tying the knot! yay

So what do you have special planned if anything for your trip? A Segway tour of EPCOT, maybe a carriage ride or a Keys to the Kingdom tour? How about a couples Spa day planned. Where are you staying and what ADR's do you have planned. The last being the most important around here because as you will come to fing out, we are all about food..

We're staying at the Contemporary. Since a lot of the people are all about food as you say, maybe someone can help me prepare for my dinner at Victoria & Albert's??? When I looked at the menu I had no idea what most of the items were! haha I know the menu is seasonal and can change from one day to the next so I don't want to start googling menu items yet and plan my meal, but any help you folks can give would be awesome!

The Grand Welcome package is AWESOME! Got that for my wife for one of our anniversary. Yes some of them are a little pricey, but its Disney. Just like Texas, there everything is bigger, in Disney everything is more expensive. If you see something you like but want to change it a little, just tell them, they will always work with you. They are great.

That is the thing that my wife is most excited about! She saw that on the DVD and new right away she wanted to do it! We also did the Disney Honeymoon Registry, and registered for that and MANY MANY MANY more items! haha

The honeymoon registry is AWESOME!!!! and all of the funds that people put towards certain things just go into one pot that gets transferred into our checking account. So even thought people were paying for the dining package or Mickey & Minnie ears, it just all went towards us paying for the trip (and of course buying the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears). Ill have to change my picture to Michelle and I wearing those, instead of my parents and I in DHS at Christmas in 2000.

check it out, you can see what ours looks like as an example.

Oh and gift wise, if you don't want to do something from the Florist, or if you just want to get something small from the florist and something else in the parks, there are plenty of jewelry places in WDW in both the parks, the resorts & DTD. Or there is crystal, or paintings or, well youve been there before, why am I telling you all this. Never mind me. I'm just rambling.

Welcome & Congratulations! My husband and I honeymooned in WDW in March 2009. We had an absolute blast. Definitely let the resort staff know it is your honeymoon. They will give you a "just married" badge which when you wear it gets you some fun perks like great tables at restaurants, better seats and shows and on rides, and we even got a free snack here and there. Have you stayed at the Contemporary before? We just stayed there for the first time last October. We got a MK view room on the 11th floor and spent a ton of time out on our balcony. The view of the fireworks in MK is spectacular!

I haven't stayed at the Contemporary before, but some of my siblings have, and I've had meals there. So I already know about and love that we can just walk to the MK and have great views from all over the resort. We have bride and groom Mickey and Minnie ears that we'll possibly wear the day we get to WDW and get those badges too. I definitely want it known by the cast members that we are on our honeymoon, just for the extra little magic they might throw into our trip!

The registry was awesome! Not everybody was comfortable giving a gift that way, but it definitely made people aware that we were registering for our honeymoon which went a long way in the end. The person who gave us the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears wasn't sure exactly how it worked, so she was very excited when she saw us wearing the ears at the wedding! That was all my idea though, when someone purchases a gift, you just get the amount they paid for the gift towards your total, and it's up to the couple to decide what to actually do with the money. We had people give money for dinner at a certain place, but we decided not to eat there, no big deal, we just put it towards the trip! It was easy!

Congrats, Corey and Michelle!!!

And welcome to the board, Corey!

You guys have such an exciting trip ahead of you!

Will you be going September 28 or later? If so, you need to do some ahead-of-time research on the Food and Wine Festival--that will totally get you in the mood for food (our favorite topic of discussion)! Smile

One of my personal fave sites for all things Disney Food is the Disney Food Blog. They have all there is to know about Food and Wine Festival, Victoria & Albert's, and tons of stuff you didn't know you needed to know! Here's their link: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/

Hope you guys have a magical time, and can't wait to hear more about the planning stages and the actual event!

Again, welcome, and congratulations on your marriage!!

Totally awesome about the registry!!!!! You guys are going to have a great trip!

Hmm, something special, something special..... how about one of the portrait packages ? Disney Event Photography

I think it would be kinda cool to dress up in your wedding attire & pose around the castle, no?

Kris, your not allowed in the parks in a wedding dress unless your using disneys wedding planners. I still think its restricted then.
