Hi everyone! I am super excited....I convinced DH to go BACK to the world for four nights the week before christmas!

Since we are going for a week in october, this is a huge deal for us....
We are DVC members, and we have some points to play with, plus our AP's expire christmas day...and Jetblue was running a great special out of our nearby airport....So, I mentioned it to him, (AFTER I reserved the room!) expecting him to say "nah", too close to christmas, too expensive etc...Imagine my surprise, when he said, "let's do it"!

So, I called MS and was able to get 4 nights in a studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Savannah view.
I am excited, but nervous hoping we will love AKL.

Give me the good, bad & ugly on this resort please!

The AKL is awesome Smile there is nothing else to really say. You cant have balloons though, and I dont like the paper straws. Eat lots of zebra domes, but that shouldnt be hard because they are delicious. Try Boma too, and look out for my favorite tilted head Ankole cattle Smile

AK is the absolute BEST, and it's GORGEOUS at Christmas! The tree is incredible, we always make a visit there during the holidays. We love the lodge and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. The views are awesome, but so is the whole resort! Boma is our fave place to eat in all of Disney, and as above, zebra domes rock! Now I'm hungry for some Boma!

Don't forget that you can also get zebra domes at the AKL's Mara, the self service store and counter service.

So exciting! I love Christmas time in Disneyland so I am sure it is awesome in WDW as well. I can't wait to hear all about your trips!

Yay Smile We love AKL...we stay there every year and it is our DVC home....and what everyone else said about it is spot on especially about it being beautiful at Christmas time.

The good the bad and the ugly?

............................um................... confused I can't think of any bad and ugly..and the good would take far too long.

AKL is my FAVORITE..the smells are enough to make one die of happiness.

Made it to Mara's at AKL today for zebra domes...yum, too bad I had to share, I could eat all 5 in the package! So good, thanks for the reminder that you can get them at the counter! Reminded again how awesome AKL is, even if we just visit for zebra domes.

I've never stayed, but I hear NOTHING but good reports. They've also recently gotten their AAA four diamond award. As for zebra domes...ah yes. I'll be making a trip soon just for some of those Smile

We absolutely love Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Savanna view is extra special. Make time to visit Boma and Jiko if you can -- they're wonderful restaurants.
