I live in Buffalo, NY. We haven't lived here long, but we absolutely love Western New York.

Obviously, I'm a lifelong Disney nut, and have been so since I think, 1976, when I was seven years old. I'm a former Cast Member and actually interviewed for, and was offered, another job with Disney last year, which I turned down. I'm a DVC member, Disney stock holder, D23 member, Disney pin collector, etc. I try to get involved in all Disney aspects, though, like most of you I'm sure, some things excite me more than others.

Other than Disney, my big passion is Italy and all things that involve Italy. The culture, the language, the people, the cuisine; I'm an honest to goodness Italophile. I have family there and I try to visit once every five years or so. I am fluent in the language, and am contemplating going back to school to graduate with a degree that would allow me to teach Italian.

Otherwise, I'm your average dude I guess. I like sports, movies, music and TV to an extent. I'm happily married with no kids, but two cats who are like kids to us!

I think I must have known you in a past life wink

Ha ha. You know, I'd been away from WDW for Grownups for a while, and when I came back the other day, I saw some of your posts. It took me about 2 seconds to realize it was you because of your writing style and sense of humor. Then of course when I saw that you posted about Holden and The Dave it removed all doubt.

I was going to write you to let you know it was me, I just wasn't sure if I should do it on here or on Facebook! laugh

laugh I guess there aren't many crazy southern girls with the sense of humor of a three year, a silly husband and an 8 month old posting on the boards are there?

How is Mrs. Imagineer?? Does she post here?

She has an account, and used to post here before, but hasn't in a while. Her name on here I think is DisneyLove. Let's try to get her posting again!

Stop!! I can't stand it, I haven't had a good wing in over 4 years!! The other thing we're lacking here in NC is good NYC Deli....I lived on Long Island for a couple of years too...nothing like a great Corned Beef Sandwich on Rye yuuuummmmm

Is the Deli in Western NY any good? The only place I've ever had good deli really is NYC. We had a decent one in Dallas for a while but it closed (can you believe it?!?!)

You can get good NYC deli in NJ too - there's a place that just opened up near me that's fantastic.

Wings are another story. We just got a Buffalo Wild Wings, but otherwise, good wings are in short supply in NJ. We know how to do everything else - best pizza, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Greek, Italian, diners- you name it, we can do it. But the wings just eludes the Garden State.

I'm sure all the NJ-ites will appreciate this but I generally just consider NJ as part of NYC. biggrin

Maybe north Jersey, but you wouldn't say that if you'd been to Central (where I live) or Southern which is a state unto itself!

I read constantly (anyone have a shelfari.com account?) and I post my books online in case anyone wants an opinion if they are thinking of reading any. Faves include Harry Potter Series, I capture the Castle, Memiors of a Geisha, Pride & Prejudice, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and a million others. I love to write on the side and have 2 poems published but they aren't anything great - it's more of a hobby. I am trying to get into writing children's books though!

I have a Shelfari! And a Goodreads. My Shelfari is http://www.shelfari.com/caitief

Harry Potter is pretty awesome Laughing out loud

I can attest that Caitie is MUCH better at keeping up with goodreads than I!!! I'm always getting good ideas from her updates laugh

I am glad you look! I am always checking out what other people are reading and adding things to my to read list...even though I already have over 1200 books on that list...to my defense, over 900 of those are from the 1001 Books You must Read Before You Die though.

So true! I'm a north jersey girl myself and some of central to south might as well be PA. to me. They have grass we have pavement. They are friendly we are not. It's really a totally different atmosphere once you leave my area...even when I went to college by you teacherdrama it was so different to me! I'm not exactly sure how one state has so many different accents either.... Up the state everyone says towel, crayon, and home differently.

Also...there are some decent wings by me! Small place near Newark. So yummy!

Honestly don't know. I live more in central. My Dad lives in Southern, and I've never heard him speak of any great deli there...

Hi everyone,

I've been away from WDWForGrownups for awhile, and find that there are some new names on the boards. I'm Jim from New Jersey--or is that South Jersey? Eastern Camden County, about 20 minutes by car, longer by anything else (I don't drive), east of Philadelphia.

A single 47-year-old man who loves to play on Facebook (and who recently got married in the game Frontierville but has never come close to that in real life), I'm a twenty-year Internal Revenue Service employee who enjoys music, reading (I have a Goodreads but not a Shelfari account), traveling, dining out, and baseball (especially the Phillies). My buddy Dave and I went to Pittsburgh June 30-July 5 via the Amtrak Pennsylvanian train to see the Phillies play the Pirates at PNC Park, and to Washington, DC July 30-August 2 via the Amtrak Northeast Regional train to see the Phillies play the Nationals at Nationals Park.

I have a corny, PUNishing sense of humor and believe that the bladder is the greatest alarm clock ever devised. I haven't been to WDW in three years but am taking a southern Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in March, 2011 with Dave and his parents.

I hope I'm still welcome here.

Jim

Jim -- great to see you back! Sounds like you've been doing some serious traveling. That southern Caribbean Cruise will be very welcome around March in Jersey, I'll bet!

Did the Phillies win?

Hi -

I'm Jeff, I'm a few days away from 47, and I live in North Carolina. We just moved here from Minneapolis a few months ago and look forward to ALOT less snow and cold.

My partner Joe and I have been together for 11 years and I became a Disney addict after he surprised me with a trip to WDW in 2001. I went as a kid and never thought twice about it as an adult. Now we have to go at least every 2 years - more now that we are within driving distance.

I work for Wells Fargo and manage a group of project managers; I've been with the company for 22 years (and would love to retire from the corporate world by the time I turn 50).

I was born and raised in Western PA (north of Pittsburgh) and have relocated 9 times in the past 15 years - I've lived in MD, NJ (Central), CT, MN, AZ, and now NC.

And, we have a dachshund named Gus silly

Hi Jeff!! Welcome to WDWFGU! I just found this place in the summer and I am addicted! It's a great place to visit.

And welcome back LeCellier! I am glad you're back on the boards..I know how hard it is to get motivated to come to a Disney board when you don't have a trip planned!

Hmmmm here we go again,
I'm Shawn, a 31 year old computer geek for Xerox, I don't think that I am ever more than 10 feet away from some sort of internet access/electronic device.
I read(Stanza on my iPhone), draw, music (play piano and love to listen) write(poetry), cook(I am half Italian and half Scot so it's always interesting) and am a TV junkie, although I am on a laptop while I watch tv so multi-tasking is my thing.

My friends nicknamed me Google as I can keep the most random pieces of information in my brain.

We have a King Boxer who was a rescue and a tiger striped TEENEY cat who rules the dog, She'll push his head out of his food dish while he's eating so she can eat his food. Which is awesome to see as she is about the size of his head.

My DH was using my account and just recently created his own so he's on here as CarJust.

And I stand here and tell you all I am a Disney addict and would do almost anything to get back there asap and stay forever muchlove

Hi,

The Phillies lost three out of four games in Pittsburgh and two of three games in DC. I think I'm a jinx but I went to Roy Halladay's no-hitter two weeks ago.

JustCar: I'd love to see your kitty push your Boxer's head out of the way! LOL!

I've been afraid to watch the Rangers games in the postseason because I feel like I'm a jinx too!
