How Many Resorts Have You Stayed At?

Do you stay at the same resort every time, or do you mix it up? How many boxes have you checked off on the scavenger hunt.

We've done:

CSR
POP
WL
AKL
Boardwalk (what's the abbreviation?)

I'm trying to figure out if I've missed one...

I've stayed at:

Saratoga Springs
Yacht Club
Beach Club
Fort Wilderness
Old Key West

Our Manager conferences are usually at Yacht and Beach because they have the conference center there.
And my friend in the DVC has booked me into the other 3. I think I'm spoiled now though. I dont want to stay anywhere else!

Our DVC home is Animal Kingdom Lodge- Jambo House. That's the only resort we have ever stayed at. We love it but I am hoping to expand out one day.

I have been obviously to AKL, but when I was younger and went as a kid... we stayed at Caribbean Beach and Dixie Landings. Id love to go back to Dixie Landings again... that was a nice one. But we sure do love Jambo though.

What would be you guys' second pick to use your DVC points for? AKL is my favorite but I'd be really interested to try BLT.

With Jason, I've stayed at

All Star Music
Contemporary MK view (seriously amazing)

I stayed at Caribbean Beach when I was 3...but don't remember it at all, so I don't think it counts!

In all honesty... im not 100% if this one is available for DVC but id go back to Dixie Landings. To be able to take the ferry to Downtown Disney is real nice. Also has pretty good fastfood. Now... id love to try the Board Walk since its connected to Epcot, but I think the downfall of it is there isnt transportation to the other parks? I could be wrong? But I think my Dad said something about that you would either have to walk to the front of Epcot, or take the boat to Hollywood Studio's and go from there.

I would like to stay at the Polynesian but I know you can't stay there with DVC points....I'm not really sure....I don't really know much about the other resorts.

Oh.... on Bay Lake Towers. I have heard some mixed reviews on it. My Dad is an eye doctor and he talks Disney with his patients, and he has had a couple of patients talk to him about it. Reason he inquired about it was we were HIGHLY debating about getting our points through that one at the time, because that was the one they were highly selling. But anyways... one couple said they didnt like it. Real thin walls. Crowded. Food was just ok. But the other couple that went raved about it, but they had a view of the Magic Kingdom and got to see the fireworks perfectly. So BLT would be great if you were guaranteed a view of the Magic Kingdom... other than that... it may not be worth it. But this is just from what my Dad and I have heard.

BLT looks really "nice" but not as "magical" as most of the other resorts. It reminds me of a nice new condo building. Still that view is hard to get over.

BWV is our DVC home resort since 2006. Love that Epcot is only a 5 minute walk away.

Wife and I spend 90% of our time at Epcot, so we always stay at BWV. F&W for 10 days last year, and never got on a bus(other than ME) or went on a ride. 56 days until we return for F&G.

That sounds awesome! What made you pick Boardwalk over Beach Club Villas? Just easier to get in? Or are they nicer?

We've only gone together twice. Maybe next time, but usually, with the AAA discount we can get a moderate for the price of a value resort!

We chose BWV because:

1. Purchased resale and BWV was $10 cheaper per pt than BCV
2. BWV has more rooms, so easier to get a room at 11 month mark
3. BWV has two categories of studios. Std studio is fewer pts/night, and we have a small contract(150 pts).

Interesting! Do any other resorts have two categories of studios?

Agreed on the short walk into Epcot! I love staying in that area for F&W!

AKL has four categories/views: Value, Standard, Savanna, Killimanjaro Club Concierge

BLT has three: Standard, Lake, and Magic Kingdom

It's really hard to get into Beach Club Villas even if it's your home, isn't it?

Hi,

I returned from my cruise early this afternoon. Because I got caught in a downpour on my way to work 2/25/2011, I developed a cold on the ship. Fortunately it took two days and about fourteen hours to get from Baltimore to Labadee, Haiti, so I was able to sleep it off. Otherwise I had the kind of blast that you can't approach with dynamite. But I digress. The month is listed first, then the dates, then the years:

4/2-5/1982: Holiday Inn Kissimmee (high school senior class trip)
10/13-20/2000: All Star Sports
12/3-14/2003: All Star Music
12/8-15/2004: POFQ
11/30-12/8/2005: WL
5/10-16/2006: POP
12/3-7/2006: Disney Wonder; 12/7-12/2006: BC
12/2-6/2007: Disney Wonder; 12/6-11/2007: All Star Movies; 12/11-16/2007: AKL. First split-stay.

Jim

I love AKL so much, I might not have moved on. Which was your favorite so far?

Hands down, AKL!!!! I am a huge animal lover and am all about saving our planet's animals so that factor is a huge reason as to why I love AKL! I make sure to visit every time I go whether I'm staying or not Smile I just love to watch the animals roam around the property and the African ambience of the decor is amazing too.

Just an FYI:

Boardwalk to Epcot or DHS - walk or boat

Boardwalk to MK or AK - via bus. Bus stop is about 50 yds from Boardwalk lobby

Mase, I wonder if your dad meant to go to another resort? Busses don't run from resort to resort, so maybe he meant you'd have to go over to Epcot if you wanted to get to say Animal Kingdom Lodge?
