I'm not sure how many villas are available for booking to non-DVC members. Also, when do they open up for booking? And once they're gone, they're gone?

I imagine that they give the DVC guys a chance and then basically go first-come, but I could be wrong. It would seem that they'd be reluctant to risk an empty room if they didn't have to.

As a DVC member, I've looked at room availability a few times (just for curiosity sake).

Seems to me like they're priced extraordinarily high. Maybe to keep occupancy requests down.

You think they probably want to deter people from staying there without a membership? Plus it makes the membership seem more appealing if you're getting a more expensive for your points. That seems pretty likely.

Thanks for the info. You're probably right, though why you'd choose a studio over a regular room baffles me. I think getting a villa as a non-member would have to be for the purpose of sleeping more people and it would make sense to get the one- and two-bedroom ones.

Still the cost really is extraordinary, isn't it?
