As promised, FINALLY we are at Disney.

Day 8:

We were off of the cruise at about 830. Luckily, it was not that difficult of a process and we hadn't really bought anything, so there was not much paper work to fill out. I was extremely excited. While I loved the cruise, I couldn't wait to set foot on Disney property again. We made it to the Park 'n' Cruise at about 9 am. My only issue with this, is that it was a little confusing trying to find their pickup point. Other than that, though, I am glad we used them so that we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for parking at Port Canaveral.

We made our merry way back to Orlando, playing Disney tunes on Pandora and throwing money at toll booth attendants (not really, but GOD, I hate tolls. Then again, the roads were pretty nice!). I think Mr. KK has heard "Part of Their World" one too many times on this trip--I get really into that song. We rolled into Caribbean Beach pretty early to check in, assuming our room wouldn't be ready. However, the room was ready! We were given our "Happily Ever After" pins and room keys. The front desk also "went to check" to see if they had something else for us, considering it was our honeymoon, but, alas, whatever it was, they were out. sad

We were in Barbados and pretty close to the bus stop. We had a King room with a pool view.

The last picture is of our one and only towel art from the whole trip. I will treasure it though : )

After unpacking a little bit, we went out to the bus stop. It seemed that EVERY bus came by except HS for about 20 minutes--there were literally 3 BB and AK buses in a row waiting We finally got a bus and arrived at HS around noon. As we entered the gate, we promptly received our first Disney park newlywed "Congratulations!" and there were many more had throughout the day!

We walked straight back to Midway Mania to snag some fast passes for later. Considering we hadn't eaten breakfast or anything else that day, we were starving. We tried to be "different" and get something new, but trying to get in somewhere at noon without an ADR was not going to happen. SO, we "settled" for Pizza Planet. When I say "settled," I mean we talked ourselves into it, because we LOVE Pizza Planet! yay The pizza is good, but it's nothing special. It is all about being "in" Pizza Planet. Toy Story is up there in my favorite Disney movies. We both ordered pepperoni pizzas with Caesar salad and just ordered one coke to share.

I had never been on the Great Movie Ride, so I made Mr. KK take me on that. Apparently my surviving photo of the Munchkins is too large even after I cropped it to death. BUT, I think that was my favorite part of the ride.

When we stepped back out after that, the skies had opened up. No matter! I just threw my jacket over my head, and Mr. KK thanked the heavens he packed a small towel from the hotel as he pulled it over his head like a bonnet. We wandered for only a second before deciding to go ahead and ride Voyage of the Little Mermaid before people flooded into it due to rain. We missed the crowd by about one minute : ) I again annoyed Mr. KK with my rendition of "Part of Their World," but I think the girl next to me loved it. haha

Upon emerging from the short show, we noticed the rain had temporarily stopped. We used the reprieve to trek over to Star Tours and stalk the Fast Pass line until we were able to get new ones. About this time, I decided I wanted Mickey's Premium. And, what do you know, "The Rat" (what we lovingly call Mickey whenever we discuss anything money related at Disney--also called- "Feeding the Mouse") gave me my first freebie ever. The CM proudly announced that "Mickey was paying" when we tried to hand over our Key.

As I was eating, the rain came out again and we covered up. Mr. KK bought a beer (the Rat didn't like him as much, I guess). We returned to Star Tours and watched the Jedi Training until it was time for our FP return. I LOVED the ride, and MR. KK had not ridden it since he was younger, so he was happy to ride it again.

We went and watched the Mushu Animation movie--even though it was cheesy, I quite liked it! I think the animation aspect of Disney is so cool. We decided to not do the drawing class right then, but we would return (in later entry). I did take a picture of the MU books in one of the display cases before we left, though. I wish I had the option to take those courses in college...

It was STILL raining, so we decided to go to One Man's Dream. We didn't watch the movie this time, but we looked at some of the objects in the exhibit.

There were some members of the Brazilian tour group passed out, taking a nap underneath some of the glass display tables. HILARIOUS, but sadly, no pictures.

Being me, I was hungry again. I also wanted to try a jalapeno pretzel, so Mr. KK obliged. He was not as "daring" (meaning--he is boring ; ) and just got a Mickey pretzel.

He missed out, because the jalapeno one was delicious.

We decided we wanted to get a Rock 'n' Roller Coaster FP before we left the park for dinner (we were going to catch a FriendShip to BW). On our way, I was stopped by a little girl. At first, I thought she was lost. She said, "excuse me, miss, but are you the girl from American Idol?" I assume she means the American Idol contest at HS, not real AI, but I don't know. I looked up at her parents and kind of made an awkward face, because you could tell she REALLY wanted me to be the girl. I apologized and told her that unfortunately, I wasn't. "Oh, you look like her." She was disappointed and sauntered back to her parents. I felt horrible! If it was the HS American Idol performance, the girl who actually sang must have been really good/cool. She already has a fan club!

We got our FPs and then started to head out of the park, BUT it started raining and raining hard. Our towel and jacket had been through enough and weren't doing much in the way of keeping us dry so we just walked through all of the stores. We decided not to purchase Mickey ears, but we took pictures just for WDWFG! THis is the only one that was small enough.

We made our way through the stores until we couldn't go any further without stepping outside. Luckily, the rain lightened and tapered off by the time we made it out. It was dry enough that I could stop to take a picture with Mike.

We took a Friendship to the BoardWalk.

We ate at Big River, because, according to Mr. KK, he remembered it being "a great little place--and not too expensive." Our bill ended up being 80 some dollars, and we SPLIT an entree. However, Mr. KK did have a beer and I had a drink, though I can't remember what it was (apparently, it was good haha). We shared nachos as an appetizer, which were DELISH.

Then we split the New York Strip, which I remember being good, but I don't have a picture. They split the plate for us, which was nice.

I think I would have enjoyed the experience (and wouldn't have minded dropping 80 bucks) if we hadn't been shoved at the bar area in that awkward, thin, excuse for a table that had us facing the front door and our backs to the bar. Mr. KK kept hitting elbows with the girl next to him.

We left full and hopped a boat back to HS. We went and rode Midway Mania with our FPs. I know I am an "adult," but I love that game! And, again, I love TS.

I caught a picture of MU Homecoming (which was not very cool unless you were a little kid).

We went straight to Rock'n'Roller Coaster, easily my favorite ride in all of the parks.

After my favorite ride, I reluctantly rode Tower of Terror with Mr. KK. I HATE that ride. I get on it, but I am shaky for at least 20 minutes afterward. This time, though, it was bearable. I think maybe I just built it up reallllly bad, and then when I rode it I was okay. haha

It was Extra Magic Hours at HS that night (til 12 am,I think), but we did not make it. We were far too exhausted, so we headed home probably between 930-10. When we got back to Caribbean, we wanted to enjoy the pool, etc, but it was almost closing time for that, so we did some laundry. I know, we are super romantic. Well, it actually might have been an okay experience, if we didn't have to do a jig and a dance to get enough change to use the machines (see, I told you the tolls would take their...toll. Yes, I did that). wink Finally, we get the change and we return to the laundry room to find the door rigged open with a trash can (it was supposed to be locked, to be opened with a room key only. Also, it made it HOT in there, since it was letting all the air out) and two women and, we assume, their daughters, pouring wine into plastic cups on top of the machines!! WHAT?! Then, they kept talking about how they were from "Jersey" and everything had to have "Jersey" before it. For example, they were not washing clothes; they were washing their "Jersey" clothes. They were not merely having a drink. They were having a "Jersey" drink. AND, then come to find out they were having a "Jersey" party in the pool--well past the "closing time" and yelling, jumping, etc. I think it was a family reunion? Maybe? By the way, I tell this story not to denigrate those who are from Jersey. I am sure you are fine people. I probably wouldn't have known they were from Jersey had they not felt the need to use it as an adjective for all of their possessions. At the time, I was super annoyed. I didn't feel well, I was tired, and I did NOT want to spend an hour and a half doing "Oklahoma" laundry at all, but especially not while they had their pool party. Now, I find it hilarious and Mr. KK and I still joke about it.

To lighten the mood, we did discover that Mickey and Minnie had left us a message on our hotel room answering machine. Minnie gushed about how romantic it was that we were celebrating our new life together "with them" and Mickey did his little chuckle. They both wished us a hearty congrats which made us both smile and remember that we were in the Happiest Place on Earth.

We finally made it to bed, but we definitely did NOT make it for rope drop the next day. WHEW! That took some time to write!

Day 9: Epcot, coming soon!

I think those lockers are horrible, they don't give you enough time to do the ride. I just don't get HP, I have never read the books and I slept through the first movie! It has just never interested me.

I felt the same way until my Potter-loving sister and her equally Potter-crazy family hauled me down to Universal in 2011 and again this spring. After the more recent trip I left thinking maybe I should revisit the whole Harry Potter phenomenon if only so I'll know what's going on at WWOHP next time sis wants us all to go. I watched the first movie (for the second time, it was the only one I'd ever seen) and figured I might as well see the second. Inside of four weeks, Netflix had delivered all eight disks to my home. But would I read the books? Figured I might as well get the first one from the library - if I didn't like it, that was that. Two weeks later I had read all seven. Now my sister is all thrilled, she got me hooked on Harry Potter.

So give it a second chance. You never know. But IMO the books are much, much better than the movies.

I agree about the books. There is only so much that can be shown in a 2 hour movie but I still enjoyed the movies.

FYI: I am not dead and I am still planning on doing this trip report. It is back to school time and I am being overloaded with information and meetings. I sat down to write my EPCOT report and just about fell asleep. If I try to write it, it is going to suck. Saturday I should have some time and will try to get it up for you!

Hope all is going well with all of you!

Soooo...I'm alive...almost all the way through my first year teaching. I am just now feeling like I can breathe. Ha. I have been lurking here and there, but not enough energy to finish this. I'm sorry I disappeared, but I'm back and planning TWO disney trips for the next year and a half or so WITH a new card in my camera so hopefully it will be safe and make trip reporting more fun! Soo...do y'all want me to finish this one ( if I can even remember) or start with my new ones??

Okay, so apparently I did not even get as far as I thought I made it before wimping out on you guys. Luckily, I wrote down some notes at the end of each day at Disney or I would have NO idea how to fill you all in. I will stitch together what pictures/memories I have and then pledge to do better the next time! crossfingers

DAY 9: EPCOT.

EPCOT is probably our favorite park as a couple. We love MK as well, but I just get super excited to eat in EPCOT and walk around the WS. Mr. KK loves it, because of Mission Space and the little game afterwards AND he loves the Living with the Land ride. Oh and now he loves the new Quick Service Mexican food.

So, as will become the norm on this trip report, we got a late start. The wedding festivities, the cruise, and our Disney aspirations had us BEAT.

I told Mr. KK we MUST get a picture before I got too sweaty. It is not too great, because of the SD card debacle. This is the recovered version. I was disappointed, because I really wanted to frame it!

After our picture, we went directly to get a Soarin' FP and then by the time we walked back over to the WS, it was open and we tried out La Cantina de San Angel... which I loved, but not as much as Mr. KK who ate here probably a grand total of 4 times on this trip. He is a creature of habit and a fairly picky eater so when he finds something he likes, he fixates!

I think this is only a picture of his, but we both ordered the Tacos de Carne, I believe. They were delicious!

Next, we sauntered back over to Living with the Land and checked in for our Behind the Seeds tour. This was one thing that hubby REALLY wanted to do, so I was excited for it, too. I was anticipating a large tour, especially since it was relatively inexpensive for a tour. 18$ pp. Not too shabby, especially because we both really enjoyed it. There was only one other family on our tour, so a total of 6 people, including us. It was great, because we could ask a ton of questions and get up really close. We learned about what the Imagineers were doing to create and maintain sustainable food sources for the park (and research as well!) They also give you information about how to utilize some of their ideas at home. We just bought a new house and would love to do work on incorporating some once we get some of the major repairs out of the way! Anyway, here are some pictures. We even got to see some gators!

After our tour, we went to Mission Space and rode that for the first of many times on this trip. As previously mentioned, Mr. KK loves this ride and MORE so likes beating kids in the game at the end. I promise next time I will get a picture of him playing--it is hilarious. He gets super intense.

As I became weary of being a space cadet, my tumbly began to get a bit rumbly. yeah so I took hubby back to the World Showcase for one of these babies:

And a chocolate eclair at the updated bakery in France. One of many on this trip. I wanted to branch out, but it was so good. I think we ate about two each time we came into Epcot. The bakery was SO much better. A lot of choices, though, I vaguely remember it being kind of crowded and confusing the first time I went through it.

We then rode Soarin' and we always love that, so it was nothing new. It does seem like that ride is getting worn down, though. It looks like the film is worn or something, because it had specks/blurriness pretty much throughout the whole thing. However, we still enjoyed it.

This is where my memory fails me. I BELIEVE we ate dinner AGAIN at the Cantina. And, again, it was good. We had a pretzel from Germany that really wasn't very good. I know we saw Turtle Talk at one point, but I don't remember it being as good/funny as it normally is. It was also the first time we didn't walk right in. There was a wait. We stayed for Illuminations, but kind of had a crappy spot (don't worry we will return again and the Newlywed buttons will make up for it). We didn't care so much, because we had another Eclair and adult beverage or two. awesome

We then went back to our hotel for the evening and went to check out the arcade/dining facilities/ and main pool. Overall the pool was pretty fun, and we had some drinks by the poolside bar. We didn't stay too long, though, as the pool was closing down. We had the most fun laying on the hammocks on the "beach" near our hotel room. It was peaceful and quiet and romantic....for about 30 minutes. Then there was a drunken fight between a man and a woman that had something to do with money and ended with the man throwing his beer can in the water and stomping back to the room. He then had to come back after the dramatic exit to ask for the keys. She didn't want to give them to him, for fear that he would lock her out. SO MUCH YELLING. So....we tried to make a discreet escape back to the room and went to bed.

NEXT DAY: MAGIC KINGDOM AND A DESSERT PARTY... we definitely had a blast and I will be adding to it soon. Maybe later tonight after I finish getting ready to restart school tomorrow! Thank you all for being so patient!

Ugh, okay, I think due to the pictures I am giving up on this Trip Report : ( I was working very hard to salvage the pictures I have and it is making me sad every time I think I have done a post (and, they take a lot of energy out of me, especially since the trip was awhile ago and I am straining to remember the stories). I keep thinking I have a good product at the end and then none of the pictures work waiting

SO, I will do one over our Christmas trip in Dec 2014, but I am going to let this one go. I will stop beating a dead horse! Ha.

To conclude our trip, though: we had a WONDERFUL time and I am so glad that we got to spend a wonderful ALMOST three week honeymoon together and that one of those weeks included Disney--we could not think of a more perfect way for us to start off the marriage. We laughed, I cried a couple of times (happy tears--the magic of Disney sometimes does that to me, especially at night during fireworks), and we ate a TON of food. We were sad to go home, but we are approaching the one year mark and cannot wait until our next Disney trip!

Highlights:

Dinner at Beauty and the Beast--loved the food, atmosphere, the dinner guests next to us (a little boy who was ADORABLE) and dancing with the Beast in the meet and greet.

Chocolate eclairs.

Alcohol.

Behind the Seeds.

Coral Reef---best meal we had there. We ate it ALLLL and had a wonderful waitress. Tank side!

Night time Jungle Cruise. It looked more realistic at nighttime and we had the punniest guide ever.

Nemo musical at AK. I enjoyed it, because so many kids ADORED it. I loved watching their faces.

Frolicking around the parks with our buttons and getting all the "Congratulations." SO nice and occasionally we got a little freebie.

I can't wait to go in December and we have been trying to talk some friends into going down with us in a couple years! clapping mickey
