La Nouba

Never really looked at going to La Nouba before, but I'm wondering if I should put it on my to-do list?

I'm curious about this too.

It has been on my to-do list for a few years but has anyone seen the show and is it worth it?

Ditto again. I've never gone because the expense has been prohibitive, but everyone raves. Would love to hear pros and cons.

We really enjoyed LaNouba when we saw it several years ago. We have been to the Cirque shows in Vegas and have seen a few of the traveling ones. The cost is prohibitive, but we've always felt we got our monies worth after seeing the shows. They are every bit as breathtaking and awe-inspiring as you think they will be and more.

I know we were able to get an AP discount on our tix when we saw it several years ago.

YES, YES, YES!!!! My wife wanted to go two years ago when we were there and I wasn't all that thrilled about going but now that I have seen it I would definitely suggest that you go. It's an amazing show!

Yes, DH and I have seen it and it is outstanding. You just cannot believe the acrobatics, that someone can move their body like that....and then they do something even more incredible. And while it is extremely athletic, it is also set to beautiful music, with comedy interspersed....We have seen 3 Cirque shows that have come to Philly and we are big fans.

One day, when we are not spending money on Disney, we will go to Vegas and see the 4 Cirque de Soleil shows that are there!

I just saw on another thread that they will be re-opening the Star Trek Experience! Great news! I can't wait to go!!!!!!

It's definately a Must Do! I've been to La Nouba twice so far. DH & I are planning to do it again this Fall since we haven't been in several years. It is completely amazing. Totallly worth the money. Like Dopeynme said, it's awe inspiring to see what the human body can do. These people are such skilled artists. It will make your jaw drop, give you goosebumps & bring tears to your eyes.

We're doing Vegas next spring. We're planning on doing Zumanity & O. I can't wait. I love CdS.

It sounds amazing, but I've never been. So you enjoy going more than once? Is it the kind of show where there are so many things going on at once that you can go back many times and still have more to see?

I'm considering this for DH and me later this summer. We've not gone and think it's probably time! Is there only one performance per evening? Does anyone know where I can find out when the theater's "dark?"

Also: good ideas for dinner beforehand at DTD?

@Dopeynme: looking forward to hearing about Star Trek!

Man that's a lot of shows. Has the show been pretty much the same since inception?

As far as I can tell, the show is the same. It's a story, like a Broadway production, only it's told thru the senses & the emotions envoked by the music & art before you.
It's so amazing, tho, that you can see it over & over and still get a thrill from it.

Hi, All! cdub, I watched the original series reruns many times...also loved The Next Generation....did not get into the other series as much.

Annie (and any others)....the new film is AWESOME!!!!!! They recreated characters that are so well-loved and they did it extremely well, IMHO. This may be the best of the Star Trek films.

Anyone else have opinions?

Sorry for being off-topic. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. You all seem to be much more patient about that sort of thing.

Yes, I saw it one afternoon in DTD, as a matter of fact. I loved it too!! Great cast, especially Zach Quinto. I have to admit, as much as I love Star Trek, the franchise has seemed pretty tired for awhile. They needed the reboot. This was a great way to do it. I'm hoping they incorporate elements of this movie into the new Star Trek Experience in Vegas--the motion simulator ride, maybe? The old TNG Klingon one was pretty outdated anyway, and the time travel element of this movie would make a good replacement.
