Main Street Barber Shop

I'm not embarrassed to admit it. My kid needs a haircut. He's two and a half and never have the scissors ever touched his hair. For awhile I couldn't bring myself to do it..and then it grew into these gorgeous blonde curls. Now that it's a bit longer and slightly out of control I still can't bring myself to do it because I'm just terrified that those curls will be gone forever and I'll never forgive myself. You see how I am making this all about me, right?

Anyway, I've made a bargain with myself (and my Dad who hates when people make comments about his adorable granddaughter) that he will get his hair cut..in three months...at Main Street Barber Shop..if we can make it that long. I remember Lizzy took her little man there recently but does anyone have any experience here? Do you need an appointment? When is the best time to go without waiting forever? Do they do anything special for first haircuts? If I sit in the corner and cry will they mock me?

And just to show you what I'm talking about........keep scrolling........(and yup, that's his BFF Lightening McQueen).

Thats how we were with Evan and I finally got to the same point as your Dad saying... oh you have a beautiful daughter.... HATED IT! But loved that his hair was long... so I told Jess that he was getting his hair cut at the person who did mine. But if you can make it 3 more months... go for it. That would be an awesome thing to tell your son when he is older and make sure you save a lock of his hair. To me its gross... but I guess its something you gender related folk love to do... lol

AHhhhhhhh he is the cutest little guy!! Never you mind about those comments. My husband has longer hair than me and he promises he is growing it down to his behind. I read somewhere that it is best to make a reservation but you can walk in. They have a special event kind of thing for a first haircut with some sort of keepsake. I think I read it on the disney web site so check it out.

Heya! We didn't need an appointment - we just walked right in. We went on a weekday morning in January and it wasn't crowded, but I don't know how that would compare with other times. I do believe that can make an appointment, which might be the best way to go to make sure you don't have a wait.

It was a real bargain at less than $20. They put stickers all over Jake (like above) and a parade came by, so he was perfectly happy! At the end, he got "my first haircut" ears and a certificate. I absolutely love the memory. Other friends of mine have gotten glitter and spiky 'dos there, so I believe that's an option.

Here's a link to my post about it. I would definitely recommend it!

They probably won't judge. Or at least they'll wait til after you leave to skicker and point.

Bella, he's beautiful!

My suggestion is always to go right at opening (and if you can go on an extra magic hours morning, line up before the shop even opens) so that you don't have to wait. awesome

A friend of mine got their daughters first haircut there. They had a blast and it was just like lizzy described.
