Meatballs & Beer

I've seen it on a few blogs..but AJ is my favorite so I'll link her..Portobello Restaurant in DTD has just opened a new Meatballs & Beer bar.

Thank you Disney chef guy..this is one more little piece of ammo I can keep in my back pocket for when I am trying to get Dave to let me plan a trip back to The World..meatballs & beer..perfect!

But it does look interesting! You have a choice of beef, chicken & salmon meatball sliders ranging from 1.95-2.95. I wonder if that's priced per ball.

I think there's something very weird about the sound of a "Meatball Bar." That doesn't mean I won't be checking it out.

I'm with cdub on this one. The first thing I thought of when I read about this was how odd of a concept it is. But, we are always looking artistic types (chefs included) to be creative, and this is a good example of that. It may be odd, but it's creative and interesting too.

Honestly I'll probably get more use out of the Meatball Bar than the Beer Bar.

Here's some further information and a slight review from the magical people at the Disney Blog!

They have a "beeramisu" dessert....I'm not sure how I feel about this!
"Also new is a new dessert option theyâre calling âBeeramisuâ. Theyâve mixed in some of the Orlando Brewery Blackwater Dry Porter, which has wonderful chocolate overtones, to the marscapone cheese of their Tiramisu dessert. I loved the beer taste, which wasnât overwhelming, but added to the flavors and without distracting from the texture. Everyone at my table asked for seconds."

Oh no! Bella, that's hilarious rolling Sounds like you've found the perfect "carrot" for your beer-lover! Wink

Also, it's interesting that the meatballs are sliders. I like that idea. I'm sure I could fill up on just a few of 'em, though! Do NOT want to try the salmon... yuck

Me either!

I wish they had a just "beef" one..although I'm the first to admit if I didn't know the veal was mixed in with beef I probably wouldn't even notice..but just the fact that I know it's there makes me want to not try it.

I agree. Salmon meatballs. That is just incorrect. I really don't know how else to describe it.

I think a Salmon Meatball is not a meatball. I'm not sure what to call it. Maybe just a Salmonball?
