Need advice for Wishes viewing

Hi All,
Need advice and info about viewing Wishes from a resort. We are 2 couples who will be spending the day at AK and then dining at Sanaa. We want to resort hop a bit after that. It will be a Monday night, the only night Wishes is scheduled to perform during our stay.

I have read the beach at the Poly as a good place to view Wishes. Does it get crowded? Is it easy to get a drink or dessert to indulge in while viewing?

Is there another resort which is also good?

I've also read references to some type of lighted boat parade. What/where/when is that?

I considered a fireworks viewing cruise, but I kept reading that they are impossible to book and very expensive, so I haven't even called.

TIA for your tips and advice!

The Poly is great for Wishes viewing. You will even hear the music if you view from the beach. Yes, it is usually pretty crowded so you will need to arrive early. There is a pool bar but not really sure what they serve has far as a dessert.

If you really want to try the cruise call. I have never had a hard time getting one and in fact we booked one while there the last time for the following night. Cost is the $300 range depending on the size boat you need.

Someone else will need to answer what viewing Wishes from the other resorts is like. We have always done it from the Poly.

Althought it says there is no Wishes some nights, there are always fireworks and you can see them from the Monorail Resorts. Im just not sure if they pipe the music in to the resorts during the party fireworks for MNNSHP or MVMCP. Anybody else know?

Yes! I've watched HalloWishes from the top of the Contemporary and we had the Halloween Party music for it. Smile

Appreciate the responses and input, thanks!

We are staying Sun-Wed. Oct. 28-31
Sun. is Epcot, and staying for Illuminations.
Mon is AK, dinner at Sanaa.
Tues is Epcot and dinner at California Grill

So, since we are dining at CA Grill, we can go to the viewing area for Hallowishes, I'm assuming? What time is Hallowishes, usually? Our friends are flying out early the next day, so that may not be an option ( for both couples).

I'm still leaning toward the beach at the Poly, for Monday night, but I'm one of those people that can't stand having to show up 90 minutes early to try to stake out space for something.....so is the beach that type of atmosphere?

I'm still thinking about a fireworks cruise, thanks Scrappy, for the info.

What about the boat parade?

On Monday Wishes is at 9:00pm. You shouldn't have to worry about being that early at the beach, but you do want to get there without having to rush. Grab a Lapu Lapu at the lounge and wander on out there with enough time to enjoy the whole show.

If you have dinner at the Cali Grill then yes, you're allowed to watch the fireworks from up there. According to Touring Plans HalloWishes is at 9:30pm on Tuesday.

The boat parade starts at 9pm I think at the Grand Floridian, and slowly makes it's way across the seven seas lagoon and then over to Bay Lake. It's easy to see form the main beach/ boat dock areas.

It's another website. It has a crowd calendar based off of historical data that I often use when planning. It lists entertainment schedules, special events, emh, and the like and figures out which park should be the the most or least crowded. There's a lot of stuff that they offer such as customized touring plans. I have a paid membership there, I'm not sure how much of the site can be searched for free, it's been a few years since I didn't have a membership.

I actually tried it a few weeks back out of curiosity. It looked like if you didn't have a membership you could search up to a month in the future. Seemed real helpful!
